🧲 Magnets

The birdhouse requires only 4 neodymium magnets :

- 2 magnets in the removable door - 2 magnets in the birdhouse body Magnet size: 8 mm × 2.5 mm

The magnets in the door are designed with a snug interference fit and generally do not require glue .

The magnets in the birdhouse body may benefit from a small drop of CA (super) glue, as the print head can occasionally lift a magnet while sealing the pocket during printing.

Tip: Before inserting the magnets, check the polarity so the door closes correctly.

🖨️ Printing

Recommended material: PETG

The supplied 3MF slicer project includes:

- ✔ Optimized print orientation - ✔ Support blockers already configured - ✔ Two programmed pauses for magnet installation - ✔ Minimal support material For the cleanest supported surfaces, I printed the model using PLA Support as the support interface with PETG as the model material. This provides an excellent finish on the supported surfaces and allows the supports to separate easily.

Printer Settings

- Optimized for a 0.6 mm High Flow nozzle . - The model can also be printed with other nozzle sizes by adjusting the slicer settings to suit your printer. - Fuzzy Skin enabled on the exterior surfaces for a natural wood-like appearance. 🔧 Assembly

- Print the model using the supplied 3MF file. - At the first programmed pause , insert the 2 magnets into the removable door . - Resume the print. - At the second programmed pause , insert the 2 magnets into the birdhouse body . - Check that the magnet polarity is correct before resuming the print. - If desired, apply a small drop of CA (super) glue to the body magnets. - Resume the print to complete the birdhouse. Once completed, the front door swings open for easy seasonal cleaning while remaining securely closed by the magnetic catch.

The 32 mm entrance is suitable for many small cavity-nesting birds, including:
