I'd like to share the Heavy Duty version of my modular wall-mounted filament spool holder, designed specifically for large and heavy filament spools.

This version supports filament spools up to 150 mm wide , with a minimum spool weight of approximately 5 kg , and a center hole diameter of at least 50 mm .

Based on the Popular FNT Modular System

This design is based on the popular FNT Detachable Modular Wall Spool Holder , but it has been significantly redesigned and reinforced to handle much heavier loads.

The main goal was to create the strongest and most robust version possible while also allowing the use of a much larger bearing.

Unlike the original smaller model, which uses 608-series bearings, this Heavy Duty version uses a 6001ZZ bearing . These bearings provide exceptionally smooth rotation under heavy loads and can even be purchased directly from the Bambu Lab store.

Multiple Holder Lengths Available

To accommodate different spool sizes, the holder is available in several lengths:

- 75 mm - 105 mm - 125 mm - 150 mm Print profiles are provided for both the 6001ZZ bearing version and the standard bearingless version , allowing you to choose the configuration that best suits your needs.

If you require a more robust wall-mounting solution, the reinforced mounting components are available separately in their own profile.

Two Versions Available

The model is available in two variants:

- 6001ZZ Bearing Version – designed for users who want the smoothest possible spool rotation and the lowest rolling resistance. Standard Version – does not require any bearing and can be printed and assembled entirely from printed parts.

Both versions are intentionally oversized and robust. Even the standard version rotates very smoothly, allowing filament to unwind without issues during printing. In practice, both variants provide more than enough performance for reliable filament feeding, so the choice mainly depends on whether you prefer the convenience of a ball bearing or a fully printed solution.

Compatible with Smaller Spools Too

Although this holder was designed primarily for large industrial filament spools, it can also be used with many standard 1 kg spools. Most modern 1 kg spools have a center hole larger than 50 mm, making them fully compatible with this design.

Modular and Space-Saving

Just like the original FNT system, only a small mounting plate remains attached to the wall. The spool holder itself can be inserted whenever needed and removed again after printing.

This keeps your workspace clean and uncluttered while still allowing you to easily use large external filament spools whenever required.

Printing Recommendations

All parts can be printed in PLA.

The design has been optimized for strength, with print orientations carefully selected to maximize load capacity and reliability when handling heavy spools.

Standard print settings are OK for layer 0.2 mm.

If you plan to create your own print profile, be inspired by the ones I published, especially regarding print orientation. Roller can be printed from hard TPU. I recommend random seam position for Roller and PIN
