Описание
IMPORTANT!
The print profiles using Support for PLA/PETG filament are optimized for it and will NOT print well without it. I included a profile with standard supports. Or just reset all print settings back to default.
---
Continued evolution of my modularized case for the popular Heltec T114 / T096 / Tracker V2 nodes.
This second version brings weather-proofing, provides bodies and lids for both Heltec T096 and T114 node variants, with a universal base and belt clip. The modular aspect allows for different configurations as well as future expansions with minimal re-print.
The weatherproofing is accomplished by the included TPU gaskets between the different layers. As the video shows, I left a node in the rain for a few hours, took it apart afterwards and confirmed it was dry inside. Full water submersion is not advised, but should be plenty fine for a rainy hike.
I am still working on a Solar Panel attachment that will connect over the back wall, similar to the belt clip, so in the meantime I have included the Solar Panel base models from the previous version.
Components
The assembly is a stack of layers secured with M3 bolts, no adhesive and no snap-fit joints. The TPU gaskets seal the display and battery compartment. I also included a TPU plug for the USB-C port and for the hole on the future-proofed base; however, the matching belt clip already plugs that hole sufficiently.
Part Info & Spec Qty Source
Board Compatible with T114(with GPS), T096, and Wireless Tracker V2 — select a node based on your individual needs 1 T114 · T096
Battery 1S LiPo, 3000 mAh, the one linked fits great 1 Amazon
Antenna SMA, 915 MHz — match antenna frequency to your region, the one linked is well tuned 1 DigiKey
Bolts M3 socket head. 20mm standard; belt-clip build swaps the 2 rear bolts for 25mm; solar-base build uses 25mm for all 6 6 Amazon
PETG filament Shells and clip — Amazon
TPU 95A filament Gaskets and port cover. Tip: Light, translucent filament keeps the module LEDs visible — Amazon
Solar panel (optional, solar base build) 60 mA, 5 V 1 Amazon
- Belt clip. Attaches to the base simply by swapping in M3, 25mm bolts (5mm longer than standard). No additional hardware or reprinting is required. - Solar base. The legacy solar base from V1 is included unchanged, with a new TPU gasket added for weatherproofing. I plan on creating a swiveling solar panel attachment in the future, but if you need solar today — this option is available. You will need six M3, 25mm bolts. What to print and how?
Five plates are included. Pick the parts required for your build. Feel free to rearrange the plates and optimize for your printing and AMS setup. I recommend PETG for the strength and heat resistance. PLA will work but will quickly warp when left in hot sun or a hot car. Support is manually configured where needed, mostly for the module body and the bolt head slots. I recommend Support for PLA/PETG filament for clean removal.
Plate Purpose
01 — T096 or Tracker V2 Your node is T096 or Tracker V2
02 — T114 Your node is T114
03 — Universal parts All builds. Shared shell and gasket parts.
04 — Future-proofed base Universal, with a pluggable hole in the base for future expansions.
05 — Legacy solar base Legacy Solar node base, gasket and panel holder
Assembly
T096 / Tracker V2
Print a set of the T096-specific and Universal parts of your choice and color, including the TPU gaskets.
- Insert the M3 20mm bolts through the base and bottom TPU gasket, 25mm on the clip if you are using one. - Secure the antenna plug and make sure the battery cable doesn't get pinched during assembly. - Connect the antenna, battery, and insert the T096 unit into the body. - Align the lid TPU gasket. - Tighten the bolts by keeping the whole stack firmly pressed; use a light clamp if needed. - The bolts should snug up, lightly compressing the TPU. Be careful not to over-tighten them, as it will strip the lid holes. T114
Print a set of the T114-specific and Universal parts of your choice and color, including the TPU gaskets.
- Insert the M3 bolts through the base and bottom TPU gasket, 25mm if you are using the clip. - Connect the GPS module and antenna, and make sure the battery cable doesn't get pinched during assembly. - Insert the T114 unit into the body — the GPS should be tucked in as shown. - Align the lid TPU gasket. - Close up the lid and power on to confirm the display and buttons are seated correctly before final tightening. - Tighten the bolts by keeping the whole stack firmly pressed; snug them evenly and don't over-tighten, as it will strip the lid holes. Weatherproofing
The printed TPU 95A gaskets seal the case: one under the display, and one between the body and battery. Six M3 bolts compress the gaskets lightly to improve the seal. No silicone or adhesive should be required. I also included a USB-C port plug and a plug for the future-proofed battery base, if not using the matching belt clip. The belt clip itself already has a plug for the base hole, however.
Note: No IP rating has been measured or certified. Testing consisted of rain exposure, direct spray, and submersion in standing water, and the case sealed under these conditions. This is not equivalent to a laboratory IP rating and should not be treated as one for sustained submersion or pressurized exposure.
Don't care about weatherproofing?
Print the TPU parts in PETG, or the same material as the rest of the layers.
Changelog

Support Filament Needed! 0.16mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill - 0.16mm balanced quality - supports painted where needed Plates:
- T096 parts - T114 parts - Universal base + clip - Universal base + clip with future-proof hole - Legacy base for 60mA solar panel
PETG+TPU merged, 0.16mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill Version with TPU+PETG merged, requires AMS or manual process for switching between PETG and TPU. Assembly is easier and the layer adhesion is likely improving the weather-proofing qualities. If you can - print this one! You will need Support for PLA/PETG filament with the provided settings.
Also print this one if you don't care about weather-proofing and just replace the TPU to your other material.
Standard support, 0.16mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill Use this if you are printing with standard support, and not the https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/support-for-pla-petg
The Support for PETG filament changes the support settings, making other support printed material hard to remove.
This one is using just standard settings.
