Описание
Dual-Spool IKEA 365+ Filament Dry Box (ALL PRINTABLE)
A complete filament storage and direct-feed solution designed for the IKEA 365+ 10.6 L container .
The system stores up to two filament spools inside a sealed container while allowing the filament to feed directly into a 3D printer through standard 4 mm PTFE tubes . This reduces unnecessary exposure to ambient humidity while printing.
The design is especially useful for dual-nozzle or multi-material printers, but it can also be used with single-nozzle printers.
Main Features
- Stores up to two filament spools - Designed for the IKEA 365+ 10.6 L container - Supports spools up to approximately: - 200 mm in diameter - 68 mm in width - Integrated low-friction spool holder - Direct filament feeding through 4 mm PTFE tubing - Separate ventilated desiccant container - Helps protect filament from moisture during storage and printing - Compact internal layout - No permanent modification to the main container body is required, apart from the lid holes for the PTFE fittings How It Works
The filament spools rest on the printed roller system inside the container. Filament is guided through the fittings installed in the lid and into a 4 mm PTFE tube connected to the printer.
The ventilated storage box can be filled with silica gel or another suitable desiccant. The openings allow air to circulate around the desiccant while keeping it separated from the filament spools.
Compatibility
The design is intended for the IKEA 365+ 10.6 L food-storage container .
It is suitable for printers using standard 4 mm PTFE tubing. It is particularly useful for printers with two filament inputs or two nozzles, but either outlet can be used independently.
Please verify your spool dimensions before printing, as spool sizes may vary between manufacturers.
Required Non-Printed Parts
- IKEA 365+ 10.6 L container with lid - Two 14 × 19 × 2.5 mm O-rings Measurements: inner diameter × outer diameter × thickness The PTFE bulkhead fittings are included in the model files and can be printed. These fittings include the parts required to mount and tighten the connection through the container lid.
The system is designed to use the existing 4 mm PTFE tubes connected to the back of the printer , so additional PTFE tubing is normally not required.
Filament spools and silica gel are not considered required assembly parts, but silica gel or another reusable desiccant is recommended for moisture control.
Printing Recommendations
- The bulkhead fitting bolts and threaded connector parts should preferably be printed in PETG . - PLA may crack or snap if the fittings are tightened too firmly. - Other parts can be printed in PLA or PETG under normal indoor conditions. - An infill of approximately 15–25% is sufficient for most parts. - Avoid overtightening the fittings. Tighten them only enough to compress the O-ring and create a secure seal. Important Note
This system helps maintain dry filament but does not actively dry filament that has already absorbed moisture. Wet filament should first be dried using a filament dryer or another appropriate drying method.
Container, PTFE tubing, fittings, desiccant, and filament spools are not included.
Assembly Guide Text
Assembly
- Print all spool-holder, roller, desiccant-container, and PTFE-fitting components. - Assemble the spool-holder frame and install the rollers. - Place the completed spool holder inside the IKEA 365+ container. - Position the desiccant box in the remaining space beside the spool holder. - Mark the required fitting positions on the container lid. - Drill or carefully cut 12mm holes. - Install the fittings and ensure that they are securely tightened. - Insert the 4 mm PTFE tubes into the fittings. - Place up to two filament spools onto the rollers. - Guide each filament end through its corresponding PTFE outlet. - Fill the desiccant container with silica gel and close its lid. - Close and seal the IKEA container. Check that both spools rotate freely before connecting the tubes to the printer.
