Giza — Benchy Around the World

The pyramids of Giza on the banks of the Nile, built to hold a standard 3DBenchy in the river. Five stepped pyramids rotated in plan so they read as diamonds rather than stacked squares — three across the Nile in Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure proportions, plus a medium and a small on the near bank. Broken crescent dune ripples across the sand.

COLOR GUIDE Blue — the Nile. Sand — the pyramids, dunes and base. The print profile already has these colors applied, so you can print it as-is. Painting is only needed if you want to change them.

HOW TO COLOR IT YOURSELF This is one watertight body, colored by painting the surface. Do not slice it as separate parts.

- Load the STL in Bambu Studio. - Set the object's base filament to your sand color. - Open Color Painting. - Turn EDGE DETECTION ON. This is the important step — without it the fill floods across the whole model instead of stopping at the region boundary. - Click the Nile with blue selected. Everything else stays sand. Painting only colors the surface; the interior stays base color and nobody sees it. The bank rises 2.5mm straight up out of the water, so edge detection stops cleanly at the shoreline.

PRINT SETTINGS No supports. Prints flat on the plate, no brim needed. 3h07m, 74.95g in two colors, 12 filament changes, 5.67g purged. 0.2mm layer height, default infill — the model is mostly surface, so infill makes almost no difference.

FIT Takes a standard 3DBenchy printed at 100%, no scaling. Slight play by design so it works across different printers. Glue it down if you want it fixed in place.
