Описание
BEFORE PRINTING YOU SHOULD CALIBRATE YOUR PRINTING PROFILE TO ENSURE PERFECT FIT, HERE IS CALIBRATOR MADE BY ME: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2385175-calibration-for-0-2mm-nozzles#profileId-2612292
Ultra-compact ITX case, packed as tight as it gets: SFX PSU, 4-8x 2.5" drives (even more with an external PSU) and 2x slim 140mm fans. Designed to be extremely rigid, extremely compact and - last but not least - good-looking: a little cyberpunk box you can put on your desk and not be embarrassed about.
WHAT FITS
- Mini-ITX motherboard - SFX PSU (SFX-L will physically fit, but it will be very tight - not recommended) - 4-8x 2.5" drives (more possible with an external PSU) - 2x 140x140mm slim fans, 15/16mm (e.g. Arctic) - CPU cooler: not taller than your RAM - that's the hard limit, there's no way around it PRINT SETTINGS
- 0.4mm nozzle, 0.16mm layer height - the most stable combination I found, and it looks great. - Filament: matte PET-G. I printed the whole case in a super-cheap matte PET-G (a ~30-33zł/spool roll from Allegro, brand "PROFESSIONAL_LAB") - it's rigid, holds the hot inserts well, and the matte finish looks great on this design. - Material used: ~865g (283m) total, of which ~217g is support. - Material cost: ~28.53 zloty (about $7.70), based on that cheap spool. - Total print time: ~2 days 23h 29m across 13 plates (per-plate breakdown below). - The print orientations in the files are probably the best ones. Per-plate print time (0.4mm / 0.16mm): Plate 1 - 9h 33m Plate 2 - 12h 40m Plate 3 - 10h 25m Plate 4 - 12h 33m Plate 5 - 6h 41m Plate 6 - 1h 50m Plate 7 - 5h 24m Plate 8 - 2h 33m Plate 9 - 36m 55s Plate 10 - 2h 40m Plate 11 - 2h 5m Plate 12 - 2h 0m Plate 13 - 2h 28m Total - 2d 23h 29m
HARDWARE & HOT INSERTS The entire case is designed around press-fit hot inserts - keep that in mind before printing.
Full build: Hot inserts:
- M3x5mm insert - 20 pcs - M2.5x5mm insert - 6 pcs - M2x5mm insert - 16 pcs - M3x5mm screws - 4 pcs (motherboard) - M3x15mm screws - 16 pcs (structure screws and spacers on top with handle + bottom you could probably go with 10mm) - M2.5x15mm screws - 6 pcs (optional structure screws, and on/off + reset switch plate and yes you could go probably with 10mm, but in front cover you will hit drives if you fully mount all drive cages.) - M2x5mm screws- 12 pcs (covers and non essential things, also disk mounts you could probably go with 10mm) - PSU screws - 5 pcs - Fan screws - 12 pcs Minimal "bare bones" build (M3 only, no M2/M2.5 inserts):
- 10x M3 hot inserts (bottom fan mount 2, motherboard mount 4, top cover 4) - 12x fan screws - Note: with the minimal setup you must run 2 fans - the bottom fan doubles as a structural brace that stiffens and ties together the lower part of the case. The design is deliberately flexible: if you don't have a given insert size, you can press-fit some of the holes with a larger (or half-size) screw - up to you. In the full configuration, though, it's as rigid as it gets.
BUILD NOTES
- Cables: use short, slim ones (~20-30cm) - there's simply no room for long cables here. - PSU: ideally a modular SFX. Grabbed a cheap one instead? No problem - just cut the cables you don't need and insulate the ends. SFX was chosen because it's cheap and widely available, and unlike those silly ATX split power connectors (which claim to separate drive power), it handles a high number of SSDs without any issues. ABOUT THE PROJECT 100% my own work, designed solo over 3-4 months of free time - armed with a dumb Chinese caliper. This is a successor to my earlier case ( https://makerworld.com/en/models/1882532-sunshine-s-itx-nas-case-6-ssd-sfx-140mm-fan-mesh ), i did make a v2 of it the developmental version of the same idea - but it ended up too big, and the design was boring. I wanted something more futuristic and cyberpunk, with real thought behind it: modular, with all the extras. So this it IT! The v3
The project is free, and I'm happy about that. But I don't want forks or derivatives of this design being published. And if you find someone selling this case online, let me know - we'll take action. A lot of time went into this, and I don't want someone making money off of it.
If you come up with a better print orientation, or have QoL ideas or add-ons, drop a comment or a DM - I'm always open to updates.
Enjoy the build!
