Описание

This is a set of boxes designed to protect filament spools from dust and moisture. It was specifically designed for the Snapmaker U1.

It also allows spools to be loaded from the front instead of from the side.

Each box consists of:

- 1 mount : It attaches to the side using the side panel fixing screw (M3x8). It is also possible to use an M3x10 screw for extra strength. - 1 box : It attaches to the mount by sliding in at a 45° angle. A PTFE tube can be inserted to improve filament feeding. - 2 bearing shafts : They support the spool and allow it to rotate. Each shaft is made of 2 parts, and requires 2 ball bearings (5 mm inner diameter, 10 mm outer diameter, 4 mm thickness). You can easily find them on Amazon or AliExpress. - 1 box gasket : It fits into the dedicated groove at the edge of the box. It must be printed in TPU. - 1 lid : It includes a slot for a round humidity sensor (45 mm diameter), to which a gasket is added. You can easily find these sensors on Amazon or AliExpress. It also includes 3 window openings for acrylic sheets to be glued from the inside (1 mm thickness is sufficient; also easily found on Amazon or AliExpress), or alternatively the included filler parts (which can also be used as templates for cutting the acrylic). - 1 knurled axle : It secures the lid to the box. In the .3mf file, you will find the print parameters used as well as the different supports. The model is easy to print in PLA. I printed it in PETG to better withstand room heat, which was slightly more difficult but nothing major. I also mixed the colors : the white mount goes with the black box, the black mount with the white box, the red mount with the yellow box, and the yellow mount with the red box.

I tested loading Snapmaker spools (positioned as close as possible to the wall), and RFID detection worked correctly.

Feel free to give feedback or ask questions—I’ll try to answer as best as I can.

I will work on an improved version to optimize PETG printing (and take your feedback into account), but for now I have run out of filament (I used about 10 spools in total across the different prototypes and the final version).

Please print one box at a time to ensure everything prints correctly and works properly.

If you print all 4 boxes, everything works perfectly, you are happy with the result, and you want to support me, feel free to do it here :
