Описание

PVC Sched 40 reducing coupler, female slip to female slip — one parametric model that covers every standard Schedule 40 nominal size from 1/2in to 4in, both as a straight (same-size) coupler and as a reducing coupler. Download one of the 17 ready-made sizes above, or open the Customize panel and dial in anything from a straight repair coupling to a 4in-to-1/2in reducer (or beyond).

Every socket is sized against the real ASTM D2466 Schedule 40 table — actual pipe ID, minimum wall thickness, and minimum socket depth per nominal size, not a scaled guess. Each socket also gets a light interference (friction) fit against the real pipe OD, so a bare printed part registers and holds by itself for test-fitting and layout before you commit to cement — this was tuned and corrected against an actual failed test print (see Printing & fit notes).

Schedule 40 sizing reference — the exact values behind every size below, straight from ASTM D2466 (not scaled or interpolated):

Nominal size Pipe ID (in) Min. wall thickness (in) Min. socket depth (in)

1/2" 0.622 0.109 0.688

3/4" 0.824 0.113 0.719

1" 1.049 0.133 0.875

1-1/4" 1.380 0.140 0.938

1-1/2" 1.610 0.145 1.094

2" 2.067 0.154 1.156

2-1/2" 2.469 0.203 1.750

3" 3.068 0.216 1.875

4" 4.026 0.237 2.000

Highlights:

- Customize to any size on both ends of the coupler – make a straight coupler, or a reducing coupler. - 3MF includes 1/2in, 3/4in, 1in, 1-1/4in, 1-1/2in, 2in, 2-1/2in, 3in, and 4in Schedule 40 nominal pipe, straight or reducing between any two adjacent sizes. - Every socket depth and wall thickness comes from the real ASTM D2466 table, not an interpolated formula — Schedule 40 wall thickness is not a smooth function of pipe ID (it actually jumps around between sizes), so the model looks the real numbers up per size instead of scaling. - Internal bore steps down to each socket's hard stop at a full 45 degree self-supporting slope, baked directly into the printed geometry (no bridging, no support material, prints clean large-end-down). - Light interference fit at both sockets for a friction-fit dry test before cementing — not a substitute for solvent-welding a real joint, just enough grip to hold pipe in place while you check layout. - Fully parametric in Fusion 360's online Customize panel: dial in any pipe ID, wall thickness, and socket depth per end independently, for sizes or tolerances outside the standard table. Printing & fit notes:

- These are dry-fit / friction-fit sockets, not a finished plumbing joint. For anything carrying water or pressure, still clean and solvent-cement the joint per normal PVC practice — this print gets you a correctly-sized, correctly-shaped coupler body, not a substitute for proper joining. - The friction fit is tuned to a specific printer/filament combination and WILL vary with yours. If a socket prints too loose or too tight, use the Customize panel's clearance parameter to adjust, and expect to iterate once. - Recommended print settings: 3-4 perimeter walls minimum (this is a thin-walled pressure-adjacent part, don't go thin on walls), 20%+ infill, PETG for outdoor/moisture exposure durability (PLA is fine for indoor or short-term use). Large socket prints down against the bed by design — no supports needed. - Not tested or rated for pressurized water lines — treat it as a DWV/drain/low-pressure irrigation-grade fitting, not a substitute for a certified pressure-rated PVC coupling. Modifiable parameters exposed in the online Customize panel:

- PipeID_Large_in / WallThickness_Large_in / SocketDepth_Large_in — the larger (or equal) socket's real pipe ID, wall thickness, and ASTM socket depth. Change these three together per nominal size; the parameter comments include the full Schedule 40 lookup table so you don't have to go find it. - PipeID_Small_in / WallThickness_Small_in / SocketDepth_Small_in — same three values for the smaller (or equal) socket. Set equal to the large-end values for a straight coupler, or to a smaller nominal size for a reducer. Everything else (the 45 degree stop taper, the reduction taper length, the socket-rim chamfers, print orientation) is derived automatically and re-checked for a valid, non-self-intersecting shape across the whole size range, so you can't accidentally dial in an impossible combination.

Files provides:

- Parametric Fusion 360 archive (.f3d) — for opening directly in Fusion 360 or re-publishing your own customizer. - 9 same-size 3MFs, one per nominal size (1/2in through 4in), print-ready, appearance data stripped. - 8 adjacent-size reducing 3MFs (3/4-to-1/2 through 4-to-3), print-ready, appearance data stripped. - All 3MFs print large-socket-down with no manual reorientation needed in the slicer.
