Outdoor Outlet Rain Shield – No-Drill Weather Hood

This weather hood was designed for wall outlets installed in balconies, utility areas, garages, and other semi-outdoor locations where rain or splashing water may reach connected plugs.

The curved top and side panels help shield the outlet, while the open-bottom design provides enough clearance for power cords and allows the outlet to remain in use.

It mounts around the existing outlet plate using 3M VHB or similar outdoor-grade double-sided tape, so no drilling or electrical disassembly is required.

- Test-fit the cover with your outlet plate and plugs before applying the tape. - Clean and completely dry the wall surface. - Apply 3M VHB or equivalent outdoor-grade double-sided tape to the rear mounting frame. - Press the cover firmly against the wall. - Apply waterproof tape or silicone sealant along the top, left, and right edges to prevent water from entering behind the cover. Leave the bottom edge unsealed so that any water that accidentally gets inside can drain out naturally. Compatibility & Dimensions

This cover was designed to accommodate the relatively long plugs used in my setup. Because of this, the cover has a deeper profile of approximately:

- 100 mm / 3.94 in projection from the wall The outlet wall plate used for this design measures approximately:

- 120 × 70 mm / 4.72 × 2.76 in The mounting opening includes approximately 2 mm / 0.08 in of clearance around the outlet plate.

If your outlet plate is slightly larger or smaller, you can scale the model in your slicer to achieve the required fit.

This model is intended as an additional rain and splash shield only. It is not a sealed or certified waterproof electrical enclosure .

For outdoor installations, sealing the top and both sides is recommended while keeping the bottom open for drainage. It does not replace a weather-rated outlet, proper grounding, GFCI/RCD protection, or professional electrical installation.
