Undead Dragon Lights Up on PC Boot — Monitor Buddy

The moment your PC boots up and the screen lights up, the Undead Dragon's breath erupts at the same instant — raging fire bursts from its jaws and slams into the top of your monitor, with scorching dragonfire pouring down the edges of the screen. Every single startup, you get that "there's a dragon attacking your desk" feeling.

There are three sizes: 10 / 20 / 28 cm. I'd say go straight for the 20 cm one — ten hours of printing is all it takes to unlock that moment when the flame ignites right along with your computer. Want maximum impact? Jump straight to the 28 cm; a few extra hours, and once it lights up you'll know they were worth it. Short on time?

The lighting setup is dead simple — all you need is a 5V USB COB LED strip (1 mm, the thin wire kind), and it doesn't cost much. The cheap way: search "5V 1mm COB strip" on Amazon, seeedstudio, AliExpress or eBay, and I've left the search picture at the end of this page. The easy way: there's a Bambu Lab strip linked right on this page — one tap and it's ordered. Both are the same 1 mm size, so either one slides straight into the flame channel.

Get a 20 cm strip for the 20 cm dragon, and 26–30 cm for the 28 cm one. Thread it in, add a dab of glue to hold it in place, and plug the USB into the back of your monitor or straight into your PC. Every time you start up, the flames come back to life.

Supports are already set up for you, so it's ready to print as-is. I've optimised them as much as I could; almost all contact surfaces are sloped angles, and both PLA and PETG release cleanly in my testing.

It mounts on the top-left corner of your monitor by default. Want it on the top-right? Just mirror the model — and remember to mirror the flame part along with it, or the two won't line up.
