Replacement rubber boot cover for the headlight connector — no more cracked, hardened factory seals letting dust and moisture onto your headlight terminals.

The Problem

On the Dacia Logan (2008 model year), the rubber dust boot that seals the back of the headlight housing around the bulb connector hardens and cracks with age and heat cycling. Once it splits, dust, road grime, and moisture can reach the electrical connector and bulb base, leading to corrosion, poor contacts, and eventually a failed headlight — usually right when you need it least.

The Solution

This is a printed replacement for that rubber dust cover. It seats in the same recess as the original rubber boot and closes off the back of the headlight housing around the connector and wiring, keeping dust and moisture out just like the factory part — but without the aging and cracking rubber goes through over the years.

The design includes an integrated pull tab so it's easy to grip and remove the next time you need to service the bulb or connector, without fighting a stiff, brittle original part.

Confirmed fit: Dacia Logan, 2008 model year (all trims). I haven't been able to verify fitment on other Logan years or on related Renault/Dacia platform siblings yet — if you try it on a different year or model, let me know how it fits and I'll update the compatibility notes.

Why ABS-GF

This part sits directly behind the headlight, so it's exposed to real heat from the bulb and engine bay, plus years of UV and weather exposure. Plain PLA or PETG would get brittle or soften over time in this spot. Glass-fiber reinforced ABS (ABS-GF) was chosen specifically for this application:

- Heat resistance — holds up to the temperatures behind a working headlight and in the engine bay - UV and weather stability — won't degrade sitting behind the bumper season after season - Reduced warping — the glass fiber content significantly cuts down on the warping ABS is normally prone to, which matters a lot for a part that needs a tight, splash-proof fit Installation Notes

- Open the hood and locate the back of the headlight housing. - Remove the old, cracked rubber dust boot (it may already be in pieces). - Press the printed cover into the same recess around the connector/wiring, seating it fully against the housing. - The integrated pull tab makes future removal easy for any bulb or wiring service. No tools required for installation.

Print Settings

- Material: ABS-GF (glass-fiber reinforced ABS) - Walls: 4 perimeters - Infill: Adaptive cubic - Supports: Auto/hybrid fa (tree) supports - Build plate: Textured PEI - Chamber: Preheat the enclosure before printing — even with the glass fiber helping resist warping, ABS still benefits from a warm, draft-free chamber for best layer adhesion and dimensional stability. - Orientation: Part orientation on the plate is the single most important setting here — it's tuned for the best combination of strength and finish quality on FDM. Use the provided project file's orientation rather than reorienting for "faster" printing; it will affect both surface finish and long-term durability of the part. Print profile provided as a Bambu Studio project file — load it directly for the tested settings above.
