Stern Pinball - King Kong: Speaker Inserts

About This Model

If you have a Stern King Kong pinball machine, and looking for a way to dress up your 5.25" backbox speakers, this full color King Kong speaker insert is for you! There are numerous options out there, with some integrating the LED light ring, but I was looking for a simple swap for the light diffuser ring that gave me a bit more pop, which is why I created these.

This design uses a total of five colors plus a clear transparent filament, requiring a need for two AMS units. I am using all Bambu PLA for the colors, and Sunlu PLA Transparent for the clear ( Amazon Link ). This model is printed face down, utilizing the textured of your build plate to create a pleasing look. In order to get the right amount of light diffusion for the LEDs, the top two layers are solid white.

I utilized several different build plates during my design and testing, and ultimately I printed my personal ones using a BIQU CryoGrip Pro Frostbite plate ( Amazon Link ). I use this plate more than any of my others and highly recommend it.

About The Model Photos

The speaker inserts in the photo, along with the ones installed in my machine, were printed on my H2D using Bambu PLA and Sunlu PLA Transparent, since Bambu doesn't offer a clear PLA at this time. Since these are printed face down, please make sure your build plate is clean so no contamination from previous prints transfers into the design or the clear filament.
