Parametric Vase Generator

A real generator, not a single vase.

The shape is built as a custom polyhedron instead of a linear_extrude, so the radius, the cross section and the twist all change independently along the height. That is why the results don't all look the same.

WHAT YOU CAN CHANGE - Size — height, base / belly / top diameter - Profile — where the belly sits, how sharply it opens and closes - Ripples — horizontal waves, with fade towards the top or bottom - Cross section — circle / polygon / rounded polygon / superellipse - Lobes — layered on top of the base shape, with sharpness and fade - Twist — linear, eased, or back and forth - Build — solid for vase mode, or hollow with a real wall

Lobes multiply with the base shape, so you can combine them: a hexagon with twelve ripples, a squircle with a star, and so on.

TWO THINGS UNDER THE HOOD

Resolution scales itself. A strong twist or many ripples would come out faceted, so the slice count is derived from how fast the shape changes.

Wall thickness is corrected. A purely radial inset makes the wall too thin wherever the surface is not perpendicular to the radius. With 20% deep lobes it would drop to about 70% of what you asked for, so the inset is scaled by the local slope.

PRINTING Vase mode, 0.2 mm layer, 0.6 mm extrusion width, 1 perimeter, 0 top layers, 3 bottom layers. Roughly one hour and 25 g. PLA — PETG smears the detail and strings in vase mode.

Heads up: a strong twist combined with deep lobes creates horizontal overhangs. If you see downward facing surfaces in the preview, reduce lobe_depth or twist_total.

Every preset is a clean mesh: single body, every edge shared by exactly two triangles, outward normals.
