M24 / M22 to G 1/2" Faucet Adapter for Shower Hose 🚿🔧

I needed an adapter for a faucet with an M22 male thread to connect to a shower hose with a G 1/2" thread. None of the existing designs suited my needs, so I created my own. The goal was to make a modular adapter that guarantees a leak-free seal. 🚿🔧

🧩 Included Parts:

- M22 Modular Flange Nut - G 1/2" Threaded Insert - M24 to M22 Reducer (for internal thread faucets) - Hex Tool (for easy installation/removal of the M24 reducer) 🖨️ Print Settings & Profiles

Printed in PETG for outdoor/water resistance and high layer strength.

Two PETG print profiles are provided:

- Single-plate: All parts printed together on a single plate for convenience. - Multi-plate (Recommended): Printing parts separately yields better tolerances, cleaner threads, and allows custom settings per part. ⚠️ Single-plate notice: Features and thread tolerances may print slightly tighter or looser when all parts are printed together. For best dimensional accuracy, use the individual plate profiles.

🛠️ Post-Processing (For a Water-Tight Seal)

Before assembly, the surfaces that press against the face seals must be sanded smooth to ensure a leak-free contact (I use 240 grit sandpaper):

- G 1/2" Insert: Lightly sand both the top and bottom flat faces. - M24 Reducer: Sand the bottom flat face (the top face is already ironed in the print profile). 📖 Assembly & Installation

The M22 to G 1/2" assembly uses a modular flange nut that locks the insert in place using 3 vertical latches.

Option A: For M22 External Thread Faucets

- Insert: Push the G 1/2" insert into the flange nut, making sure the 3 vertical latches align and lock into place to prevent it from spinning. - Gasket: Place a 2 mm or 3 mm face seal (you can reuse the one from the M22 aerator/perlator you just removed) on top of the insert. - Mount: Screw the flange nut directly onto the M22 faucet. - Connect Hose: Screw your shower hose (which should already have its own face seal) onto the bottom G 1/2" thread. Option B: For M24 Internal Thread Faucets

- Place a face seal on top of the M24 to M22 reducer (reuse the one from your old M24 aerator). - Use the included Hex Tool to thread the reducer securely into the faucet. - Follow the steps in Option A to attach the M22 assembly! 🥷 Leak-Proofing Hacks & Tips:

- Deformed Seals: Always check your rubber washers. Used face seals are often deformed and might not seal properly - if it weeps, swap in a new gasket. - Inter-layer Seepage: If water seeps between the printed layers of the reducer under pressure, increase layer adhesion by printing with a +10 °C higher nozzle temperature. Reducing part cooling slightly, or slowing down the print speed may also help.

Multi-plate PETG profile This is a multi-plate profile for PETG. When it comes to tolerances I find printing single parts with specific settings better. It is also easier to fine tune sizes this way.

Single-plate PETG profile For those who rather print everything in one go.

NOTE: Tolerances and feature sizes (e.g., thread fit) may vary slightly compared to parts printed individually.
