Finder Scope & Telrad Dual Mount

A dual mounting system designed to install a Telrad and a finder scope at the same time on your telescope.

The Telrad side is available in two different heights:

- 60 mm riser - 100 mm riser This allows you to choose the most comfortable position depending on your telescope and observing setup.

Reinforced mounting option

The model includes an alternative version designed to use a metal plate , allowing the mount to be tightened more securely and helping distribute the clamping force.

Easy-to-use screw heads

The files also include printable hexagonal screw heads/knobs . These make the screws much easier to tighten and loosen by hand, especially when adjusting or removing the mount in the dark.

Recommended hardware

I recommend using:

- M4 screws - 16 mm length (M4 × 16 mm) Recommended material

I recommend printing the parts in PETG or another strong and durable material , especially the finder scope mount , as this part needs to securely support the weight of the finder.

PETG is a good choice due to its strength, durability and better resistance to outdoor conditions compared with standard PLA.

The design provides a practical way to keep both the Telrad and finder scope installed and accessible without needing to choose between them.

Printing instructions

For the nut slots, I recommend slightly heating the nuts before inserting them so they can fit securely into the printed part.

Alternatively, if you prefer not to heat the nuts, you can increase the clearance of the nut slots in your slicer to make insertion easier.

Fit may vary slightly depending on your printer calibration, material and print settings.
