Fully Modular Tablet Stand and Charging Rack

During the rollout of a new process where I work, we needed a way to charge multiple tablets in their special 20mm thick cases.

Looking around, I found a number of contenders online, but none wide enough to accommodate this thick new case, much less extensive enough to hold six to ten of them at once!  Each tablet would have required its own individual stand, taking up excessive space when stored in multiples.

Keeping that in mind, I designed this completely modular tablet stand system that can be fully customized by simply connecting the various sizes and shapes of parts together to create your very own unique, custom solution for your situation.  Need just a simple one-unit stand?  You can do it.  A stand with a tablet charging area behind it?  You bet!  10 tablets all in minimum space to charge in bulk?  You're covered.  You can even set up two tablets back-to-back if you need to create a kiosk!  At some point I realized that you can make a dandy micro PC stand , too!  Mix and match the pieces and parts you need to create your own solution to fit your specific needs !

I've got a few pictures that barely cover the very beginning of what's possible.  Play around and figure out what you need, then print and assemble!

The system consists of the following:

- Three base racks with differing tilts to them at 5, 12 and 20 degrees.  You can flip them backwards, too - Rear stabilizer - important to use this if you have heavy tablets or need some additional stability - it fits the front as well - Two sets of spacers and couplers - 10-50mm in 5mm increments allows you to create the perfect rack or stand - Two different sizes of feet to suit various needs

If you are assembling this to hold heavy things (laptops, rugged tablets or other weighty devices), it wouldn't hurt to give the dovetails a dab of glue once you have your final version, and make sure you use the rear stabilizer .  For most uses, PLA should work fine.  Play with other materials if that suits your use case better - everyone will have something different.
