A simple, strong clip designed to hold a pair of French or patio door handles together.

I originally designed this for my own doors, but because handle sizes and spacing vary considerably, I've made the model fully parametric and included the OpenSCAD source. You can adjust it to fit your own handles rather than having to remodel the part from scratch.

Included Files

Two ready-to-print sizes are included:

- 91 mm handle centres - 104 mm handle centres The OpenSCAD source file is also included for other sizes.

Customising the Fit

The OpenSCAD model includes Customizer controls for:

- Handle centres – distance from the centre of one handle to the centre of the other - Handle diameter – diameter of the round part of the handle - Clip depth – front-to-back width of the clip - Handle clearance – allows you to fine-tune how tightly the clip grips - Wall thickness – controls the thickness/strength of the clip - Hook wrap angle – controls how far the ends wrap around the handles The default clearance is 0.6 mm .

How to Measure

You'll normally only need two measurements:

Handle diameter – measure across the round section of one handle where the clip will sit.

Handle centres – measure from the centre of one handle to the centre of the other.

A useful trick: if both handles are the same diameter, you can measure from the same edge of one handle to the same edge of the other . That measurement is also the centre-to-centre distance.

Printing

The clip prints as one piece and requires no supports .

For a clip that will regularly be fitted and removed, PETG is recommended as it provides some useful flexibility. PLA+ can also work well if you prefer a stiffer clip.

The model has rounded edges for a smoother finish and curved transitions around the centre section to avoid abrupt stress points.

This is a handle restraint , not a security lock or certified child-safety device. It should not be used as a substitute for the locks fitted to the door.

Because printers, materials and door handles vary, you may need to adjust the clearance slightly for the best fit.
