Pot Size

This plant support pole will fit pots that are at least 70 cm in diameter. However, the smallest base available is 60cm in diameter.

Pot and Pole Medium

This plant support pole has been tested with moss, aroid mix and LECA pebbles. The base on the other hand has been tested with soil, mineral substrate, aroid mix and LECA pebbles.

Plant

It is best used for plants with finer roots like (but not limited to): Philodendron Heartleaf, Brasil, Silverstripe etc.

The climbing plant support is made of the following components:

- Backing - Grid - Base / Leg - Watering Attachment (Drip Watering or Wick Watering) - Stake Clip The basic combination includes: base + backing + grid

The following steps are suggested in order to prevent roots from attaching to the layer gaps. As with any other closed-back growing poles, the roots tend to attach to the backing for support.

The option you choose depends on the material you printed with:

- Applying a coat or sealant, or - Sanding the inner portion of the component

Building the pole with the Print Profiles

There are 4 print profiles available.

- Base and Backing combination - Firstly, select the base and backing combination depending on your medium and pot size. - Grid options - Secondly, choose and print the grid for your B ase and Backing Combination - Backing options - Time to stack the pole higher? Choose and print the backing size you need. Go to the Grid Options and print the matching grid. - Base options - Just in case you want to print just the base without the backing.

Building the pole with the STL files

These are the basic parameters to be set.

Parameter PLA PETG

Nozzle diameter 0.4 mm 0.4 mm

Layer Height 0.2mm 0.2mm

Print Speed Printer-default (50% is recommended) * 50% (silent mode) *

* bed adhesion is crucial for the success of this print. The brim setting on some parts help with this. Slow speed can be set after the print (for some printers) has started, instead of fiddling with the print speed for the different layer components

Backing

- Print top-side-down without supports, where the insert flap is at the top. (For reinforced strength on the flap, print at a 45° angle.) - Outer Brim set to 20 mm width. (Brim-object gap may be set to 0.13 to avoid the need to deburr but it might affect the bed adhesion negatively) - Set at least 3 walls Grid

Print flat on the bed without brim and support. ** If you find the grid too loose or tight in the backing, you can increase/decrease the depth.

Base / Leg

- Print with the flat side on the bed without brim and support. (For reinforced strength on the flap, print at a 45° angle.) - Set at least 3 walls

Base and Backing Combinations (recommended settings, 0.2mm) NOTE: This is just the base and backing combinations. Print the chosen grid from the Grid Options .

Ensure that the bed plate is clean. When printing the pole upright, set the speed to silent .

Plate 13 onward has a backing on the 45° orientation for a sturdier print.

Choose 1 plate for your build.

Use the Grid Options print profile to select your matching grid. When it's time to stack, use the Backing Options and Grid Options print profiles.

Regular Base

- 0.2mm layer height - 4 wall loops - 15% infill - no brim Round or Skirt base

- 0.2mm layer height - 4 wall loops - 15% infill - no brim Backing ( Printing at 50% speed (silent) is recommended. )

- 0.2mm layer height - outer brim enabled at 20mm - 4 wall loops - 15% infill Backing at 45° orientation ( Printing at 50% speed (silent) is recommended. )

- 0.2mm layer height - outer brim enabled at 20mm - 4 wall loops - 15% infill - organic tree support with 8mm initial layer expansion

Additional attachments are available:

- Watering Attachment (Drip Watering or Wick Watering) - Stake Clip

Grid Options (recommended settings, 0.2mm) NOTE : This is just the grid options. Use Backing Options or Base Options for variants of the other components.

Choose 1 plate for your build.

Choose 1 plate for your build. Deselect parts that are not needed.

Print Profile Settings:

- 0.2mm layer height - 5 wall loops - 15% infill - no brim and support

Additional attachments are available:

- Watering Attachment (Drip Watering or Wick Watering) - Stake Clip
