Version 3.0 is now available. Click HERE for the latest version.

Updated version 2.2, 5/28/28 to include teeth on the solar panel arm to prevent the arm from slipping if it get's bumped. Thanks to LupusWorax for the help with the design of the teeth.

This is my adaptation of a Meshtastic case I found. I used the generic arm and modeled a mount to attach a specific solar panel. I'm linking a similar model from Maker World, but the original that i used was from another site from another creator and had more variants of parts. Here's a link to the one I worked from:

https://www.printables.com/model/713562-rak19003-meshtastic-weatherproof-case/files

(The following is mostly copied from the original model description)

This is a weatherproof case for a RAK19003 based Meshtatic node. Since the RAK19003 includes a Li-ion charging circuit and solar panel input port, the case has room for a 2000mAh Li-ion battery and a hole for running wires from a solar panel.

- The model TPU-Seal should be either printed out of TPU (or other flexible material) or cut out of some flexible gasket material. This provides a seal between the case and the lid. - The SMA antenna hole has a countersink on the inside of the case to use an o-ring seated between the rear hex of the SMA connector and the case. - The M8 threaded hole has a countersink to accept an o-ring on the cable gland, which, in combination with a round wire (as opposed to multiple wires) should create a water-tight seal for the solar power input. - The Lid-Holes model includes indents to accept o-rings around the screws, providing a water-tight seal for the Arm-Mount. - Finally, the 3D prints themselves have to be waterproof, so using PETG or ASA, printing slower, hotter, and with less cooling, and using at least 3-4 perimeters is recommended.

# Materials Note: The links are just example parts that will definitely fit, they're probably not the cheapest way to get the parts. Also, the links may die in the future if the listings are removed, in which case, you're on your own for finding the parts (that should be pretty easy though). ## Basic Case - 4x M3x6mm heat-set inserts [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087NBYF65 - 4x M3x8mm machine screw [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TKSWCZR?th=1

- 4x M3 washer [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5GXMVRG?th=1

- 3x M2.5x4.5mm heat-set inserts [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HKT5W7S?th=1

- 3x M2.5x4mm standoffs [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F1YJX2Z?th=1 (you may need to file the top down by .5mm if the battery is too snug. This will drop the board slightly and give you more room to pack the battery on top) - 3x M2.5x3mm machine screws (I used the ones that come with the RAK19003, but any that are 3mm to 8mm long should work) - 1x SMA to U.FL 5cm cable [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AJQ33Y4 (you can use longer, but it will get messy having extra cable in the case) - 1x 5mm o-ring [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N75JL0F

- 1x SMA LoRa antenna [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/915MHz-LoRa-Antenna-Indoor-Cable/dp/B0CTXL61LY/ref=dp_prsubs_sccl_2/130-3369531-1720835?pd_rd_w=gsiqL&content-id=amzn1.sym.42aa4ac9-41cf-40f2-844a-256751b93dbf&pf_rd_p=42aa4ac9-41cf-40f2-844a-256751b93dbf&pf_rd_r=SQDS2QSAM28C4SKHGWG5&pd_rd_wg=hnYn7&pd_rd_r=72e55992-d820-49ed-b9a7-6abaea11761e&pd_rd_i=B0CTXL61LY&th=1

(link is 915MHz for North America use and this one comes with the SMA cable so you do not have to buy seperately) - 1x 2000mAh Li-ion battery [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TVDQ251 (any battery will work as long as it's less than or equal to 46x44x9mm) - 1x RAK19003 Mini Base Board [rakwireless] https://store.rakwireless.com/products/wisblock-base-board-rak19003?m=5&h=wisblock-base - 1x RAK4631 (nRF52840) or RAK113100 (RP2040) Core Module [rakwireless-RAK4631] https://store.rakwireless.com/products/rak4631-lpwan-node?m=5&h=wisblock-core&variant=37505443856582 [rakwireless-RAK113100] https://store.rakwireless.com/products/rak11310-wisblock-lpwan-module?m=5&h=wisblock-core&variant=40830755602630

## Solar Add-on - 1x M8 nylon cable gland [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Idea-30pcs-Waterproof-Nylon-Protector/dp/B07WS9HBV4/ref=sr_1_5_pp?crid=2UAZ6ZCXVK309&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.9RiZyCnv78Eld1kSODUxwISimwwlzpmqG7xq_6taPzeK88OLzwZMDMh1PLQOjXMm_TPnjdfVHrSw6b3yK0ps5ryjCFij1YnKVJlM9338Jf43nDjGFZOroSuWbQTCVTNokXxhKpMHHmBnLhGyxpGIFF75b5nuV2vZW_MRmb3hFSon_5163Vy-vxojSPYCM_HrA20dF__YiyrvHpr57S4g_kMm1oMZBufenvX0A2E91FkVHlFc68D8175oAZ6t-8eR6Or34zTB1KflJCi6gNhciN76zxjH2hG8ToWY0YH7aKE.6C5SKRF9Gjba4bm0lqnDceObRUQSckkS55ChiN2K3d0&dib_tag=se&keywords=m8+cable+gland&qid=1729654435&sprefix=m8+cable+gland%2Caps%2C259&sr=8-5

- 1x 5V solar panel 107mm X 61mm [Ali Express] https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805988668790.html?spm=a2g0o.home.0.0.468a76dbU9V7UA&mp=1&_gl=1*1gv3s0p*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE3MjM4NzUxODkuQ2p3S0NBanc4ZnUxQmhCc0Vpd0F3RHJzaklwdnVKSG5OVUhPZVo2NXlEdHAxTnF5YzlTSHRMSjFlRTlpQ284Q201RTdGMmRSQW14bHd4b0NzWGNRQXZEX0J3RQ..*_gcl_dc*R0NMLjE3MjM4NzUxODkuQ2p3S0NBanc4ZnUxQmhCc0Vpd0F3RHJzaklwdnVKSG5OVUhPZVo2NXlEdHAxTnF5YzlTSHRMSjFlRTlpQ284Q201RTdGMmRSQW14bHd4b0NzWGNRQXZEX0J3RQ..*_gcl_au*MjA4MzU2NzU0NC4xNzI4NzAwODIw*_ga*Nzc0OTcwNzk5MTc4MjIyLjE3MTc5ODg0ODE5NDg.*_ga_VED1YSGNC7*MTcyOTY1NDUyNi4yOS4wLjE3Mjk2NTQ1MjYuNjAuMC4w&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

For solar arm assembly: - 2x M3x8mm countersunk machine screws [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HNDWFT8 - 2x M3x6mm heat-set inserts [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087NBYF65 - 1x M3 nylon lock nut [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075ZZW7VL - 1x M3x25mm machine screw [Amazon] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R8J3175

Let me know if you have any assembly questions. It's pretty tight but it fits, and it's super small. I printed in ASA and mounted outside in summer heat and direct sunlight. The photos of the model are after it was in the field for three month, and it still looks brand new.

Enjoy.

0.2mm layer, 6 walls Updated 5/28/25 to include teeth on mount and solar arm.

You may want to print the model on a textured plate if you have it, but definitely print the TPU gasket on a smooth plate. You will need some kind of gasket if you want the model to maintain a water tight seal.
