Created this beautiful and festive Christmas tree decoration. It can be easily printed in vasemode. The profile is configered with variable layer hight to make sure the top (which will eventually be the bottom) is nicely closed and strong enough. You can use a standard Christmas ball hook (12mm hole), or print your own (cap with hook now also included in the print profiles).

Be careful when taking it off the build plate. I always use the Bambu scraper to make sure it doesn't break at the wrong place. Vase mode can be a bit fragile.

Currently there are three versions:

- one ball with 12 ridges (a more open spiral) - a ball with 18 ridges (for a more dense spiral) - a taller and slimmer ornament with 18 ridges - a cap with hook to make it easier to hang in the Christmas tree

I printed mine in Bambu Silk PLA which looks very nice. Could easliy be printed in 0.12mm layer hight as well for even more detail.

I was inspired by the design below, but wanted a stronger spiral, closed bottom, slimmer core, and less & thinner ridges/spirals. So I have drawn my own version in Shapr3D. Shapr3D files available on request.

Taller 18 ridges version - 0.2mm layer, 1 walls, 0% infill This TALLER version has 18 ridges, so a little more dense ridges:

- 0.2mm - 0% infill - 10mm outer brim only - Print in vase mode

Cap with hook - 0.2mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill This prints 5 caps with custom support. Attach them with some (hot) glue.

With this profile, a thread is embedded in the ornament neck, so that the corresponding screw cap can be hand-screwed in place for maximum convenience.

Please don't change any parameter of the profile because it is already optimized for strength.

SCREW CAP with hook - 0.16mm layer, 5 walls, no glue require No glue required!

Screw cap to bolt on the screw versions.

Simply align with the thread on the ornament and screw by hand . Don't push hard when arriving at the end of the thread.

80% + couche variable => 0.2mm layer, 1 walls, 0% infill modèle réduit à 80% et bordure de 15mm pour maximiser l'adhésion.

J'ai légèrement retravaillé l'épaisseur de couche variable afin de réduire encore un petit peu le fait que on pouvait parfois distinguer les différentes couches sur le dessus.

All in one, ornaments in spiral, caps in normal, #fixed# I love this design and keep printing it for myself, but as my gf keeps asking me for another one after another one, I have to keep having go back and pick them one by one. So I put all of them together, and fixed the cap's support. (mostly for myself, but I will make it public)
