High-efficiency Noctua 120mm fan grill

Custom-engineered for optimal performance-to-noise efficiency in use with the Noctua NF-A12x25 fan. Carefully optimised to ensure smooth pressure gradients as the fan blades pass the radial struts, resulting in higher airflow performance and lower noise emissions.

Originally developed for the Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition power supply, this 120mm fan grill design has enabled a ~2dB(A) reduction in noise levels compared to the stock power supply grill when paired with the NF-A12x25 fan.

Notes:

- This grill has been designed for a PSU where space is very tight, so we had to work with a flat panel type design. As such, it's a great solution for similar flat panel type situations or if you want something that is easy to 3D-print or laser cut. However, if you have more space available, we recommend our NA-FG1 fan grills that feature an integrated offset plus offset push-pin mounting, which gives the fan more breathing space and will therefore yield even better results. - The grill has been designed for use on the intake side of the NF-A12x25 fan and should be oriented in such a way that the swept radial struts of the grill run perpendicular to the swept fan blades to ensure smooth pressure gradients. To ensure correct orientation, please put the grill with the side marked “fan side” facing the inlet of the fan. If the grill is oriented the wrong way round (“fan side” markings facing away from the fan), the radial struts of the grill be will parallel to the fan blades, which will result in poor performance. - The ~2dB(A) noise reduction is in relation to the standard fan grill of the regular Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 power supply, NOT compared to the fan without grill. Adding a grill in front of the fan will always reduce its performance-to-noise efficiency and the best thing a good grill design can do is to reduce this efficiency loss. Therefore, we only recommend using a grill if your application requires this type of protection. - A fan grill is always a trade-off between protection and performance. Our design has been created for the Seasonic Noctua Edition PC power supply and therefore, it follows the regulation requirements for PC power supplies, which dictate a certain maximum hole size. Of course, you can always increase performance by increasing hole size and reducing protection - ultimately, having no grill at all will be best from a performance perspective!
