BOOKOO Scale Drip Tray with Water Shield (Gaggia Classic)

UPDATE - V2 Cover

I found that directly applying silicone pads onto the scale (see picture) improves contact between the scale and the cover. This also makes cleaning easier, as coffee residue can accumulate over time. To accommodate this change, the following modifications were made to the cover:

- The internal depth was slightly adjusted to enhance contact - Chamfers were added to the visible sides for improved aesthetics

This model integrates your BOOKOO scale as part of the drip tray, protecting the scale from water released by the group head for various reasons, such as system pressure drops, flushing after use, and more. Works seamlessly with Gaggiuino Gen3 and greatly ease the workflow.

Workflow

Thanks to Gaggiuino Gen3’s new Bluetooth connection with the BOOKOO scale, you only need to lift the cover once to power on the scale, replace the cover, and pull your shots. Then simply remove the cup and flush—no need to move the scale around. The scale will automatically shut off after a few minutes, and you can adjust this setting in the BOOKOO app.

PS: The logo on the Tray and the walls of the Cover symbolizes the Great Wall, which is where I was inspired on the drainage system of this design.

This model has 3 parts:

- Tray - Features a single, clean drainage slot - Holder - Holds the scale securely inside and elevates it slightly above the tray to ensure water never floods in. It also features a peripheral “umbrella” to prevent water splashes inside - Cover - Features a tilted and curved surface to guide water in one direction into the drainage slot on Tray. The small bumps on the top surface are aligned horizontally to ensure cups remain level when placed on top Bill of Materials

- 1mm thick silicone or rubber pad / tape Printing

- PETG required - Support - Not required for Tray and Holder - Required for Cover. The following support setting is recommended for easier support removal: - Top Z distance: 1.5x layer height - Base pattern spacing: 3mm - Top interface spacing: 0.75mm - 0.4mm nozzle - 0.2 layer height (smaller layer height recommended for the Cover for better finish and details) - At least 2 walls (4 walls suggested for the Tray) - At least 15% infill (gyroid suggested) Assembly Instructions

v1 - Apply the pad or rubber around the edges of the deepest square on the bottom of the Cover. This improves contact with the scale for more accurate weight readings and adds friction to minimize Cover movement.

v2 - Apply the pad or rubber around the edges of the BOOKOO Scale.
