Framework 13 Laptop Display to Portable Monitor Conversion

W.I.P. If you upgraded your display and have an extra sitting around, this model is for you

This model consists of 4 sections.

- The front screen bezel - meant to be 3d printed - screen screws into this part - mostly finished, would be improved if heat set inserts were added. - The back plate - meant to add stiffness and protect the screen for being damaged by bending - there is a stl file for a 3d printed version and a dxf for a laser cut version (sendcutsend will cut and countersink holes for you for less than 40 USD) - stable design, unlikely to be changed much - PCB Housing - you probably sourced a different 40 pin to type-c/hdmi adapter than i used, this part is meant to be modified to fit your pcb. - Meant to be 3d printed only. - Kickstand - I'll be honest, this isn't a good kickstand design and it needs to be updated to something more stable. I'll be designing a nice print in place hinge that locks into position to replace the current design.

This design is definitely a work in progress but if you get the back plate laser cut the updates should maintain compatibility with the original back plate. However the printed backplate is 3mm thick and i printed it with 15% infill in PLA and it works perfectly fine even though the lack of extra weight makes it feel cheaper.

I used flat head M3x8 for everything except the kickstand which uses m3x30 socket head with a nut, but again the kickstand will be updated.

Be sure to buy it with the cable, the framework laptop display cable will NOT work and may even damage the display or adapter board.
