Transportable ADS-B Antenna

I am running an ADS-B basestation with selfmade antennas on my balcony. But since I am not living on top of a mountain I was always curious, which range I could get with my setup. So I designed a portable ADS-B antenna that I can take with me during hiking. This antenna can be hold up in the air by hand or placed on a flat surface. To avoid a long signal cable, the USB SDR receiver is directly connected to the antenna with an SMA to N type adapter. The connection between receiver and computer is done over an USB extension cable. I use the ClockworkPi uConsole with TAR1090 installed on it (along with all necessary scripts).

Insert the shaft into the base, attach the antenna to the receiver and feed the USB cable through the shaft. The hood needs to be mounted with two 2 mm screws. Note: the long shaft is printed with Prusa XL, the short one can be printed with MK4s or similar.
