Описание

Do you think a phone cover with a built in Sharpie holster is a dumb idea? That's fair, but you're wrong and we can't be friends.

If a Sharpie is one of your everyday carry essentials, there's a good chance you'll appreciate this design. The cover also functions as a great phone stand, as well as a grip for one-handed scrolling.

Printing

The cover is very easy to print. It requires a very small amount of support material. Here are the print settings I used:

- The “Back Plate Edge” prints best at 0.1 mm layer height to maximize strength. The only changes I made were turning on supports and setting the support style to snug, as well as increasing the XY separation between an object and its support to 0.5 mm for easier support removal. - The “Back Plate” was also printed with snug supports, but at 0.2 mm layer height. I also enabled variable layer height and ironing for an improved surface finish. - The “Sharpie Sleeve” was printed with no supports at 0.2 mm layer height. I also added a brim, set the type to inner brim only, increased the brim width to 4 mm, and dropped the brim separation gap to 0 mm to improve print stability. Assembly

Assembly is even easier. Remove any support material from your printed parts, then remove the clip from your fine point mini Sharpie's cap using a pair of flush cutters. Add some super glue to the inside of your Sharpie sleeve, then slide the Sharpie into the sleeve and allow the glue to dry. Place the back plate against the back of your phone, then place the back plate edge on top and secure it to the device using the included hardware. Add more glue to the cavity on the back plate before pushing the capped Sharpie into place and again allowing the glue to fully dry. You're done!

WARNING: I wasn't able to actually test this design on a real CMF Phone 2 Pro. The case prints cleanly and reliably but I want to make sure I disclose that I was unable to test the design properly before publishing. So if anyone is brave enough to print this design, please let me know if there are any issues that you run into. Thanks so much!

P.S. - I just added a CAD version of my 2-part back cover. Feel free to use it for remixes!
