Chick-fil-A really is the home of the original chicken sandwich. Other restaurants have come close, but CFA has, arguably, some of the best chicken sandwiches. They have a loyal fanbase and restaurants all over the US.

Each restaurant is built differently but many of them have a similar color scheme of tan/brown and white, red, and black logos and accents. Some restaurants in high traffic areas have long, double drive-thru lanes to serve as many people as they can quickly. Other locations have unique design features, like the neon road sign pictured above. This location in Columbus, OH replaced a long-standing diner, but CFA decided to maintain the original road sign and rebrand it, giving the location a fresh look while maintaining the old, retro look of the sign.

For my design, the main building is based on a CFA restaurant in North Carolina. The building is long with a tan and brown color brick. The drive-thru has two lanes for ordering. The front of the restaurant has large doors and windows with black, rectangular awnings. I did make some changes to simplify the design and optimize it for printing. I also included a unique road sign which has a large red arrow, black beams, and a few areas for logos and signage.

- This is a large model set with 62 printed pieces but assembly is smooth and easy. One of the things I love about making these sets is laying out all of the parts and spending a night building the model just like a brick set or model kit from the store. The assembly process is just as fun as the finished product.

- The doors and windows are super glued into the building body. These parts are printed in PETG Translucent and PLA Black. There is always a chance that the two materials will not stick together, so if you have concerns, please use like materials. So far, I haven't had any issues with the PLA peeling since the parts are so small and only the top layer is PLA.

- There are two awnings that are very similar in size. I would recommend keeping a pair of calipers handy before assembling the awnings to measure the parts and make sure you assemble them in the correct place. The included assembly guide will note the correct location for each of these awnings.

- I used hot glue to attach the logo signs.

- The assembly of the road sign can be a bit tricky. There are two halves of the road sign. The red arrow slides into the black frame but the top of the arrow is placed in front of the frame, then the middle section of the arrow is behind the frame, and then the bottom of the arrow sits in front of the frame. Try to get the bottom of the arrow in place and then align the top of the arrow in place. Take your time and try not to use too much force. Once the arrows are in place, use hot glue to assemble the two halves together.

- The filament list is now included in the assembly guide.

- Assembly guide and Drive-Thru Menu signs are attached.

- Models sliced in Bambu Studio and printed on Bambu Lab printers

Thanks to everyone for suggesting a CFA model set, and special thanks to all of my Patreon and MakerWorld members! I have more models in the works, so stay tuned for new models coming soon. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Enjoy!
