Sunlu Filament Dryer PTFE Anchor

This is a low cost non-intrusive addition to the Sunlu Filament Dryer to anchor the PTFE tubing to the dryer effectively with printable parts and #8-32 nuts and a #25 (0.149") drill required to widen the #8-32 nut thread. No need for PC4-M10 fittings or other appendages protruding from the exterior of the dryer.

This addition to the Sunlu Dryer consists of a printable base and PTFE connector that can be easily detached from the base when loading or swapping dryers. In addition, you will need #8-32 nut(s) and a #25 (0.149") drill. The PTFE connector design files are labelled 1 through 5 to align with the MMU2S buffer for convenience and easy tracking of tubes when disconnected from the dryer.

The base should be printed with a higher melting point type filament such as ASA or PC as it is mounted on top of the metal heater plate. The PTFE connector filament material is not as critical, but I printed mine with PETG. Avoid sequential printing of parts as they tend to warp after completion due to the continual bed heat which alters the connection between the base and PTFE connector in a negative way.

When threading the PTFE tubing into the PTFE connector, allow a small amount to protrude past the end of the connector to allow a good surface for the filament to ride on smoothly.

Printed with 0.4mm nozzle, 0.20mm layer height, 30% Grid infill, and 3 perimeters. The #8-32 nuts are drilled out with a #25 (0.149') drill to enlarge the hole to provide just enough grip without deforming the ID of the PTFE tubing which could lead to unwanted drag on the filament.

Note: if you are using 5/32" (0.156") OD x 3/32" (0.0937") ID tubing, drill out nut with #26 (0.147") drill.

Edit 2022-03-21: Added a rear base for those who have dryer modified for rear exit. Unless the cover is rearward removeable, this base will not work with a continuous PTFE tube from the PTFE connector to the buffer.
