MSI Katana Laptop Screen Hinge Repair

Presenting this just in case it's useful for someone

This is a hinge reinforcement for an MSI Katana laptop. One day when I closed my laptop screen it just broke along the side of the screen, just above the hinge. My first thought was ‘update time’… but then I wondered whether I could save it with my other hobby, 3D printing.

This is the result. It hooks around the bottom and side of the screen and has a large pad on the top of the screen to reinforce it.

I used superglue on the pad and the bottom of the clips. I also purposely printed it at 45 degrees to the plate (manual support and brim) - there is purposely a flat to give it more bed adhesion at 45 degrees. This is for strength.

OK, not the prettiest, but it worked for me and I'm still using the laptop!
