Sunlu S4 upgrade MOD 5 Spool Holder

This MOD is born when i built a color printer and need stores for my spools.

!!!!!!!!!! For you start this MOD, you need to now that only 195mm spools will fit !!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!! And to fit 5 spools you need to cut the top middel lip to clear the way for the spool !!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!! Now that you need to drill holes on the back of the dryer !!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!! Use high temp resistance filament WE DONT WANT FIRE !!!!!!!

Print settings: VZBOT Style

Top Hat :

You need to print the top hat extensions to make room in the dryer. Print upside down with support. Check your support settings because of the holes for the hinge points. This is small and fragile. To remove the original hinge from the dryer open it and push in the middle of the valve carefully.

5 to 1 Hub:

Print it with the Bottom down. Need some support for the screw holes. I mounted simple under the box with 2x m3 screws. A bearing is to trigger the micro switch. Keep in mind that when the filament triggered the switch we need to retract the filament a min length of 30 mm back to cleared the way in the hub.

filamentalist classic mod:

To fit the support legs from the filamentalist in the S4 i made some changes. You can print the Left_Support and Right_Support than fit in the box. If it's too small you need to print 1 mm longer support legs. Use the shorter 1 in the corners of the box.

I also added a micro switch in the tensioner mount 80 mm to check filament is loaded and used as a runout sensor. Maybe later for autoload macro. To trigger the switch i used a head of a hexagon socket screw. Cut it of and put it in the hole under the switch.

UPDATE: 20/12/2025

I redesign the [B]Tensioner_mount_80mm_sensor for now this working great in my case. Lowering the switch for 0.5 and give the screw head more dept.

Order the classic one, 80mm axel with sensor. In this set you find the micro switch what will fit in the tensioner mount 80 mm with sensor.

Or order them separately.
