Jet engine storage container for Qube 540

Jet engine shaped storage container for Cooler Master Qube 540 mounts on top of the case so can be mirrored and used on both sides of the case. The lid is opened by rotating the fan. The lid also snaps slightly into the closed position. Some headphones or wires may hang on top of the model.

Printing

For good results, I'd recommend using organic supports for the body. They're needed for attachments to Qube 540 case and can help with printing the tail section of the model.

Also consider printing at low speeds to successfully print thin and overhanging parts of the model.

Assembly

Before assembly, check that the nut fits onto the tread. If needed, you can sand the thread edge or reprint the nut at a slightly larger scale in directions perpendicular to the assembly axis.

The cover is simply attached to the body from the front and secured with a nut from the inside. The nut can be tightened moderately with its bottom resting against the screw.

Notes on fit

- The mount to the panel is more rigid than the original model. Sand the grooves on the printed body if necessary.

- If the nut is screwed on deep, the lid may be too tight. You can loosen it by placing a piece of cardboard on the bottom of the nut.
