Hygrometer Holder for Sterilite Containers

This is an all new model, inspired by the design by RealityTake2 . My model can be attached to the container lid either using small zip-ties or for a more finished look with 8 to 12 mm long M4 screws.The lip that the mount attaches to are different depths on various sized containers, hence the parametric model. Included are STL files to fit inside the lid of 20qt/19l and 32qt/30l Sterilite gasket boxes.

Design

The hygrometers I have, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GR67G1M?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 have a couple of clips that hold the body together, so the model is notched to accommodate these clips. The number of notches is configurable.

The hygrometer body opening is flared toward the back side to provide room to easily remove the battery door.

The side mounting holes are dual purpose: 1) a curved hole from side to bottom to use zip-ties; 2) a straight in hole from the side with printed M4 threads for screwing to the box lid.

Printing and Assembly

Material : PLA or PETG recommended. I used PETG simply because that's my most common print material, but really, make this with whatever you have.

Settings : 3 walls recommended for strength around the threaded mounting holes 3 top and bottom shells. 5% infill. I use cubic pattern.

Assembly: If you use the screw mount, I recommend running your screws or an M4 tap into the side holes before mounting to clean out the printed threads.
