Описание

Cardboard refill spool with 3D printed core. Compatible* with Bamboo Lab refill spool standard.

Hardware needed:

- 8xM3 screw, ideally with tapered head (length does not matter)

- 8xM3 heat set insert (I used those made by CNCKitchen)

- cardboard box/old cardboard spool

How to:

- Print core and two side panels. I do not recommend printing from PLA if you plan on drying the spool in oven or some other "hot" dryer, as it is more prone to deformation.

- Install heat set inserts.

- Cut two cardboard disks with inner diameter of 65mm and outer dimameter of ~200mm. **

- Secure one cardboard disc with one 3D printed side panel and 4 screws. Insert the refill roll of filament and secure it from the other side. Now is the time to remove plastic retaining strips from your refill spool. To secure filament end simply make holes in the cardbord disc.

*Tested with spools that claim to be compatible with Bamboo Lab spool. I do not own any original Bamboo Lab spools so I did not test directly.

** If you have a problem with this step write it in make. If there are a few of you I might make a template.
