Описание
This is a mount adapter for an IP67 junction box to attach to a pole, mast, or anything round-ish using hose clamps or stove pipe straps. Remixed from this excellent model by @quantenquark .
The use case would most commonly be for a Meshcore repeater or Meshtastic node, but there are many other reasons to strap a box to a pole. This deletes the need for the janky little plastic mount tabs that come with the box as well as the steel bracketry they attach to, making a much more solid and safe connection while also minimizing the wind profile.
This was made specifically for this box in 170x120x90 size , but will fit any box with the below hole spacing:
- Hole spacing: 135mm x 85mm
- Total dimensions of the box-side plate: 156mm x 106mm x 6mm thick.
- Diameter of holes: 5mm
>>> Parts You Will Need & Assembly <<<
- x4 - M5 self-tapping screws with flat tips, matching what came with your box, but 6mm longer .
- x4-8 - washers to match the screws. You may want to add washers between the plate and the box, under the screw heads, or both. I think this is optional, but you be the judge.
- x2 hose clamp straps, maximum 16mm wide. Length determined by what you're attaching to.
Be careful with your screw lengths. The last thing you want is to push too far and pierce/crack the box cavity. If you can't find the perfect screw length, use washers or cut the screws down.
I recommend backing up the screws with some marine silicone adhesive between the plate and your box.
>>> Printing <<<
Use a weather and heat resistant material such as ASA, ABS, nylon, etc. A fiber reinforced version of those would be best if you have the nozzle for it.
I printed in ASA and had a bit of lifting on the plate and I bet ASA-CF would have held shape better. Depending on how dialed your ASA is, you may need to adjust scale +/- 1%.
- 6 perimeters, 6 layers top and bottom. 7 perimeters in the clamping "V" using a height range modifier.
- Infill was 50% gyroid
- Overkill? Probably. But remember you're using clamping force around the bracket, and the box will be up a pole getting hucked around in the wind. I'd rather worry about the hose clamps.
I've included both a 3mf & stl, as well as the fusion file in case you need something to remix and resize.
Happy meshing!
