Top Plate for Bondtech LGX Pro on RatRig V Core 4 CNC Toolhead

Top plate for Cristian's CNC Toolhead mount for RatRig V-Core 4 . I've found that if you use large (3-5kg) spools and/or have a very long filament path, performance with this large extruder is greatly improved. I have both and have tried multiple extruders (obiter, sherpa (6T and 8T)) and the quality of the parts the printers produces is significantly increased with the LGX.

I have access to Markforged printers here so made a plastic one with HSHT Fiberglass and it performed totally fine with virtually 0 deflection in the mounting arms. Included the model here, it's more substantial than the part intended be metal. I suppose it's conceivable that something like PPA-CF could be used but ideally this is an aluminum part.

Assuming you make this using aluminum, there is a also a small 2mm thermal isolator piece included which was printed using PPS. It sits between the extruder and the top plate. That needs to be printed with with material that can stand 200+C if you are running this in a heated chamber. Especially if using the LGX Pro Metal. I am running that extruder and it conducts a lot of heat, metal on metal. I have not measured the heat transmission with it and without it.

I also included a mount for Orbitool O2S toolboard. The normal O2S mount will not work because of the length of the LGX Pro.

Update -- Found that the toolboard mount needed larger spacers to ensure that the extruder stepper driver stayed a bit cooler. I found that when printing above 340 or so the extruder stepper on the O2S toolboard would be dangerously hot and ended up getting an OTPW warning.
