Solder fume extractor 140mm fan with USB-C

Simple solder fume extractor fan powered by USB-C. This requires soldering the + and - wires from your fan to the PD trigger board and configuring your trigger board to request 12v, see instructions for your specific trigger board for that. You might need to increase or decrease the USB-C hole size in the case-top, and I recommend measuring your fan to make sure it will fit.

The fan holder can be fastened to the fan using M4 screws and nuts, but this should be optional as the fan can't move anyway, but it is recommended to use the fan holder as a fan guard so the filters dont hit the fan.

Build instructions:

- Alter your PD trigger board to request 12v and test with multimeter (make sure the device you use for Power Delivery supports supplying 12v).

- Find the + and - wires from your fan, shorten them down and solder them to + and - on the PD trigger board.

- Hot glue the PD trigger board to the case bottom, make sure it aligns with the hole in the case top.

- Fasten the fan to the fan holder with M4 screws and nuts, make sure to orient the fan holder right.

- Insert the heat inserts into the case top.

- Insert fan with fan holder into case top, and screw in case bottom into case top.

- Cut to size and insert the activated carbon filters into the front and back, optionally just the back or front.

I printed this with Prusament Galaxy Black PLA, 0.2mm Layer height and 0.4mm Nozzle on a Prusa Mini+. I used a Fractal Design 140mm x 25mm case fan. Only used supports in the usb-c hole in case-top.
