Описание

AEGIS RX - Crash-Ring Battle Top

The ring takes the hit. The core keeps spinning.

AEGIS RX is a modular 3D printed spinning battle top designed for the Open Sauce 2026 Spinning Battle Tops challenge. It uses a ripcord launcher, interchangeable tips, and swappable crash rings so the top can be tuned for different battle styles.

Instead of depending only on fragile teeth or sharp blades, AEGIS RX separates the design into a stable spinning core and replaceable outer armor rings. The core is low and wide for balance, while the crash rings control how the top handles impacts.

Features

- Ripcord-launched battle top

- Swappable outer crash rings

- Interchangeable performance tips

- Low-profile body for stability

- Outer-weighted design for stronger spin momentum

- Rounded impact surfaces for durability

- Designed to print without supports

- Modular parts for tuning, repair, and testing

Included Parts

- Main AEGIS RX spinning core

- Ripcord launcher

- Pull strip

- Endurance crash ring

- Defense crash ring

- Attack crash ring

- Multiple tip options

Crash Ring Options

Endurance Ring - White A smoother rounded ring focused on stable spinning and clean deflections.

Defense Ring - Orange A thicker bumper-style ring designed to absorb hits and keep the top in the arena longer.

Attack Ring - Blye A more aggressive ring with larger impact fins for stronger contact and destabilizing opponents.

Tip Options

Needle Tip Lower friction for stamina testing.

Rounded Tip Balanced traction and stability for general battling.

Flat Tip More movement and pushing force, but shorter spin time.

Design Goal

AEGIS RX was designed around the idea that battle tops often lose performance when their outer edges chip, bend, or throw the top off balance. With AEGIS RX, the crash ring is the part meant to take the abuse, while the core stays protected and keeps spinning.

This makes the top easier to tune, easier to repair, and better suited for repeated battles.

Printing

All parts are designed for FDM printing with no supports.

Recommended settings:

- Layer height: 0.16-0.20 mm or adaptive layer height

- Walls/perimeters: 2–6

- Infill: 100%

- Supports: No

- Material: PLA+, PETG, or another durable filament. PLA works fine, too.
