Functional FDM-Printable Catapult

3D model description

This fully functional catapult was designed specifically for FDM printing. The model features freely rotating wheels and a working launch mechanism.

All parts are printed separately in a flat, print-friendly orientation and require little to no support material. Assembly is simple and does not require glue.

The model can be scaled to suit different display, play or tabletop purposes. Please note that significant scaling may affect the tolerances of the moving connections.

Recommended settings:

Material: PLA or PETG Layer height: 0.20 mm Nozzle: 0.40 mm Walls: 3 Top and bottom layers: 4 Infill: 15–25% Supports: Not required for most parts Brim: Optional for smaller parts Print orientation: Use the supplied flat orientation

Print the parts separately and carefully remove any brim or remaining support material before assembly.

The model is assembled using press-fit and rotating connections. No glue is required. If a connection is too tight, lightly sand the contact surface. If it is too loose, a small amount of clear varnish can be applied to the joint to increase friction.

The model can be resized, but scaling it down may make small details, axles and connection points more fragile. Scaling may also alter the intended tolerances.

Use only lightweight projectiles and do not aim the catapult at people, animals or fragile objects. This model contains small parts and is not intended for young children.
