Ender 3 X-Axis Motor Cover 10x11 Drag Chain Adapter [Male & Female]

Overview:

Run a 10x11 drag chain from the X-axis motor cover to the linear-rail-mounted toolhead of your Ender 3.

The chain-link is offset from the centerline of the 2020 extrusion towards the front of the printer by just 1.25mm. This theoretically makes the chain flush with the front face of that extrusion, and helps avoid some of the hardware sticking out of the Z brackets.

Male and female variants included. Use the female variant to compliment the male link on my Linear Rail Stealthyswiss Drag Chain Adapter Bracket .

Printing:

Supports are required. Use polyholes, Z-contouring, and make sure your filament profile is calibrated for dimensional accuracy. I printed this in PETG, and I would recommend you use a similarly flexible, heat-tolerant material.

In order to hide support scarring, orient the part such that the front face (as installed) points upwards. I found ironing the top surfaces of the chain-link ears was very effective, though as you can see in my photos the ironing didn't go so well on the front face. (this was probably due to an imperceptible sag towards the unsupported middle, where I relied on bridging instead of supports.)
