Hive top feeder DIY set - sada pro Jakubovské krmítko

Convert a plastic food container into a cheap top feeder for beehive. The set consists of several easy to print parts. Also the assembly or disassembly is fast and simple so you can stack the containers for space-saving storage between seasons.

Printed parts:

- bee entrance (lower and upper part)

- funnel with a protective grill

- cap

- spacer (for Langstroth)

Non-printed parts:

- plastic food container (preferably stackable and transparent, about 8-10 litres)

- rubber sealing for jars - diameter 50mm

- some floating stuff (for example small bricks cut from packaging PU foam)

- board to cover the hive

Assembly instructions:

- Drill a hole (diameter 50mm) into bottom of the food container.

- Drill the same hole into a board that matches hive dimensions.

- Screw the upper and lower parts together and use a rubber sealing between the upper part and the container.

- Drill a hole (diameter 40mm) into the container lid.

- Place cup.

How to use the feeder:

- Insert some floating stuff (small PU tiles) into the container.

- Close the lid and insert the cap.

- Open hive.

- Place the spacer on the top frames and cover with the board. Align the holes.

- Place the feeder on top of the board, alight the holes.

- Replace the cap with the funnel.

- Pour bee food.

- Replace the funnel with the cap.
