Printing Instructions

- Print in PLA or PETG using a 0.20 mm layer height.

- Use 3 walls with the Arachne wall generator.

- 5% gyroid infill.

- No supports required.

This model was designed specifically for the Echo Dot Max, providing a secure fit while keeping the speaker openings clear to avoid interfering with sound output. The Echo Dot Max itself becomes the character’s “head,” and the stand prints as a single piece with no glue or assembly required.

For extra stability, you can optionally add weight inside the lower body by pausing the print and inserting marbles, pellets, coins, or similar material. This is not required for normal use.

This design was fully tested and is fully functional.

The Echo Dot Max Sitting Buddy turns your smart speaker into a small seated character while keeping the design simple, clean, and easy to print.

Instead of hiding the Echo Dot Max inside a bulky enclosure, the stand uses the speaker itself as the character’s head. This keeps the original device fully visible while giving it a completely different personality. The result works especially well on desks, shelves, bedside tables, home offices, gaming setups, and other spaces where the Echo Dot Max is already part of the room.

The body was designed specifically around the proportions of the Echo Dot Max , so this is not just a scaled version of the older Echo Dot Gen 4/5 model. The larger speaker required different proportions and a different fit to make the character look balanced while remaining stable.

One of the nicest details is that the Echo Dot Max can be slightly rotated while sitting on the stand. A small change in angle is enough to make the character feel more expressive, almost like it is looking in a different direction. It is a simple detail, but it gives the model much more personality without adding moving parts or extra pieces.

The design prints as one single piece , with no supports, no glue, and no assembly required . Once the print is finished, simply place the Echo Dot Max on top and adjust the angle to the position you prefer.

The stand was also designed to keep the speaker areas clear, helping preserve normal sound output and avoiding unnecessary obstruction around the device. The Echo Dot Max remains easy to access and remove whenever needed.

For users who want extra stability, the lower body can optionally be filled with additional weight during printing by pausing the print and adding sand, pellets, coins, or similar material. This is completely optional, since the stand is already functional without additional weight.

The rounded arms, legs, and body give the model a soft and friendly appearance while keeping the geometry practical for FDM printing. It works particularly well in matte PLA, but PETG is also a good option if you prefer a slightly tougher material.

Color choice can completely change the personality of the model. Black gives it a subtle and minimalist appearance, while purple, gray, white, pastel tones, or brighter colors can make it feel much more playful. Since the Echo Dot Max itself becomes the head, matching or contrasting the body color with your speaker can create very different looks.
