DIN rail mounts (RatRig Vcore3, 3030)

This model is a remix of the Jevermeister DIN rail holder.

The original design from Jevermeister is fantastic but I wanted more flexibility in mounting and remounting DIN rail in the electronics compartment of my vcore3, to save drilling and redrilling of the electronics back plate at a later date as this is almost impossible. I also just wanted an easier way to install my DIN rail that was more forgiving to errors in initial positioning.

Rather than mounting to the electronics panel/rails behind it, these mounts attach to the rear most 3030 extrusion and are secured with a single M6 x 10-12mm bolt. The part is design to be a snug fit between the side extrusion and the elec. panel so that any twist induced loading caused by the weight of items attached to the DIN rail is supported by the panel/extrusions. The bolt (whilst likely supporting some load) is largely for height setting.

Doing this allows rails to be attached and removed easily without drilling the panel.

For shorter rail lengths I recommend using Jevermeister’s end cap, a single one of these mounts and a middle support. I will remix Jevermeisters model to match the offset from the back of the rail to the end holder soon.

Supports — with or without works just fine, M6 counter bore a little messy without, but does not effect usage

*** INSTALLATION ***

Cut rail to length. Install to ends of the rail, with M6 x 10-12mm and 3030 M6 T-nut. Place rail diagonally, ensure T-nuts are aligned with slots and then straight rail by moving both left and right ends at the same time, until rail is horizontal.
