608 Bearing (Parametric Fusion360 File, print in place)

I wanted to make my own print-in-place 608 ball bearing for my Ikea Samla Drybox so that all the necessary parts can be printed down to the IkeaBox.

I modeled it in Fusion360 and so I can offer it to you as an .f3d file so you can easily change the created custom parameters yourself.

Parameters:

In Fusion360, the individual parameters are very easy to change so that you can adapt the ball bearing to your needs or your printer.

Printing parameters:

Since the roller bearings are very fine and the gap should be as small as possible, I've had the best experience of only printing at about 50% print speed. The finer the layer heights the better, I printed it with 0.1mm layer height and it fits very well.

- 0.1 or less layer height - 50% print speed

Post Processing after printing:

So that the roller bearings do not rub against a side wall, they are offset inwards on both sides. So that you can do this with the printer, I put a support ring underneath with a distance of 0.2mm.

This ring is very easy to remove with a stanlay knife by carefully driving the tip into the groove and levering out the ring.

The inner ring can be fixed nicely with a Torx T50 to make it work.

I then very carefully got the roller bearings running with pointed tweezers.

If the ball bearing then runs reasonably well, I have had the experience that I have carefully held it to the chuck of the running drill press so that it runs in. You can also use a cordless screwdriver with a clamped T50 Torx.

Then some silicone grease or lubricating grease of your choice, run this in a bit and it's done :)
