Overview

Traveler, beware the crossroad - for HECATE draws near!

The Hecate mod converts the Nerf Bigshock into a four-shot inline clip blaster that loads from the rear! This uses half-length short darts, and can achieve a performance of over 100fps with minimal effort.

Inspired by the Rear Load Inline Bigshock by SomeDingus and the Traveler by RainbowModsandProps, the Hecate is a complete overhaul and refinement of the inline Bigshock. It is smooth, consistent, and finely tuned for performance and ease of printing!

Hardware

Hardware is super simple! All you will need is:

- The 3 extra screws from the shell of the Bigshock. - Some kind of strong, airtight glue. Superglue, hot glue, epoxy, even electrical tape should all work! - A 012 O-Ring. The specific dimensions are: 3/8" ID, 1/2" OD, 1/16" Width - 17/32" K&S Brass tubing, for the barrel. Cut length as desired, can be up to 75mm. Longer barrels will have higher performance, up to a point. - Fine grit sandpaper, as needed. If any parts are particularly rough or won't fit together nicely, then a little sanding should help!

Build Guide

Make sure to test fit everything before gluing, as you can't undo it once it's set!

- Unscrew the body of your Bigshock, keeping all screws. - Make the indicated cuts to the grey plastic of the grip (see the green lines in the above photo). This is best done with flush cutters, a sharp hobby knife, or a rotary tool with a cutting wheel. The red plastic isn't used, feel free to dispose of it. - Remove the Air Restrictor, and the back of the Bigshock's barrel (the square piece, shown by the green line in the above photo). A knife and/or rotary tool can help, as well as a screwdriver and hammer. If you don't feel confident in what you're doing, I recommend looking up a guide for removing air restrictors first. Be careful not to go too hard, or it will crack the plastic! This isn't the end of the world however, a little glue can seal it back together. - Insert the Breech part in the rear of the barrel with the arrow pointing down, then glue it in place. - Insert the BarrelConvert part into the front of the Bigshock, and glue it in place as well. - Insert the cut length of 17/32" Brass into the BarrelConvert part, using glue if desired. - Place the 012 O-Ring into the groove of the BreechSled part, then push it into the Breech . Make sure to let the glue on the Breech dry first! - Place both Body parts and screw them together with the UnderRail part sandwiched between. This will use the 3 leftover screws from the shell of the Bigshock. - Slide the chosen Muzzle part over the Brass Barrel, using glue or tape if a tight fit is desired. - Add on any extras, such as the priming handles or grip cover. I highly recommend checking the build guide of SomeDingus' design made by ZDL on YouTube. You can find that here . It's in Mandarin I believe, but with context and auto-translation you should be able to mostly understand it.

Credits/Compatibility

Big shoutout to SomeDingus and TimETraveler8 for their excellent 3D models, all of my geometry is custom designed from the ground up but makes heavy use of their files. Additionally, all of the muzzles designed by SomeDingus are still compatible with the Hecate! You can find them here .

The cross-compatibility doesn't end there - if you like the rails of the Inline Bigshocks designed by SomeDingus, you can still use the Breech , BreechSled , and BarrelConvert files from the Hecate with the other body!

If you'd like to make a Hecate as a commission or other paid endeavor, please reach out to me and we can work something out! Otherwise, this model is not open for commercial use .

Printing

Supports needed on the BreechSled part, otherwise unnecessary. Recommend a brim, especially on the BarrelConvert, Breech, UnderRail, and GripCover parts. Otherwise, normal settings are fine. I recommend more walls and infill for the Body parts. Print parts as shown in the above photo.

Update Log
