Описание

Here's my Hex-Top Eyepiece Holder, the perfect solution for safely storing and organizing your telescope eyepieces. This 3D printed holder is designed with a hexagonal top, which prevents it from rolling off tables or other surfaces. The holder is also inexpensive to print, making it an accessible and cost-effective option for any telescope enthusiast.

This eyepiece holder is not only functional but also sleek and stylish. Its compact design allows for easy storage and transportation, making it the ideal companion for all your stargazing adventures. The holder can also be resized to fit your specific eyepiece collection, ensuring that all your eyepieces fit snugly and securely in this handy holder. Upgrade your telescope setup with the Hex-Top Eyepiece Holder and elevate your stargazing experience to the next level.

You may want to put some foam padding in the holder if you have smaller eyepiece as they may move around if not.

Please Note: The 3D printed eyepiece holder is an excellent solution for safely storing your telescope eyepieces. However, due to the slippery nature of the PLA material and variations that may occur during the 3D printing process, the holder's lid may not fit as tightly as desired. This can lead to accidental unscrewing, particularly when using heavy eyepieces. To improve the fit and secure your eyepieces, I recommend applying a strip of clear tape over the ridges of one side on the top part of the case. This will create a smoother and more secure grip when screwing and unscrewing the lid, thus ensuring that your precious eyepieces stay safe and secure at all times.

Also, if you print additional copies of this model, you may want to print the top at 100.05% and that may resolve the fitment issue as well.

Printing

Print bottom in bottom side. print top on top side

Filament - PLA, PETG (Have not tested but would be stronger)

Infill - 10-15%

Layer Height - .25mm

Supports - None

Parimeters - 2 works well

Additional Parts - None

Bed Adhesion - You may want some glue stick to ensure good bed adhesion.

Rafts - None needed

Scaling - This can be scaled up to fit your larger eyepieces, but your milage may vary depending how large you make it. Please note: I am creating largers sizes, so you may want to wait to scale up.

Filament Change - None

Post Printing Notes : The case may need some “breaking in” to maximise the smoothness of operation. Just cycle opening and closing using different grooves to make sure all are conditioned. This step is not essential but, it does make it work a bit smoother.

Happy Printing!
