Описание
I wanted a case like effae's one , but with a nicer and more sturdy tenting solution than gluing on some legs. So I made my own! This case has a 21 degree angle.
Note this is for the V2 non-RGB Sofle.
The case and the tenting frame screw together using four M2 screws. The screws go through the case and thread directly into the smaller holes in the frame, no heat inserts needed. I used 6mm long ones, 4mm or 8mm would probably work too but I haven't tried that. The case itself replaces the bottom FR4 plate in the original design.
Make sure you assemble the case and tenting frame before putting in the PCB! You won't be able to reach the screw holes for it otherwise.
Printing notes:
- No supports needed
- Use a material with decent layer adhesion (e.g. not silk or matte PLA) or risk breaking the print during assembly
- All files are in the orientation that they are designed to be printed in
CASE V2 UPDATE 2026-08-16:
- Increased the depth of the microcontroller cutout so it now fits if the microcontroller is soldered with pins instead of socketed
- Widened and moved the TR(R)S cable cutout slightly. In V1 I didn't realise the TRRS jacks are slightly out of symmetrical and the right side jack was too close to the hole's edge.
- Made the TR(R)S cable cutout height independent (slot instead of hole). Standoff length now shouldn't matter as long as they're at least the originally recommended 7mm (or 8mm if you don't use low profile screws).
- Having a slot instead of a hole in a vertical wall also makes the case print cleaner ✨
- I recommend using 10mm standoffst to mount the PCB to the case, it solves two problems:
- It leaves enough space under the PCB for screw heads and also foam if you're so inclined
- If you're using any relatively low keycap profile like cherry, my thumb would slightly hit the edge of the case when pressing thumb keys with 8mm standoffs
I won't be taking change requests because I made this mostly for myself, but feel free to remix it. Here is an Onshape link . (if anyone wanted to change the tenting angle this could be done pretty easily too. Open the onshape document and look for “Tenting angle plane” in the list of features)
