If You find this design useful, Please consider sharing a Make or leaving a comment. It's always good to see my efforts in use by others out there and it often inspires me to make improvements where I can. Without feedback I just draw a line under a design and move on to new projects.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The sets here were designed primarily for home use with the box design being more for putting away on a shelf than carrying about. For the players who want something you can carry about and transport without risking throwing dice all over the floor or carrying them in a separate bag, I have made a pair of travel versions. Both of the more compact travel versions are here: (They are still sized for D6 Dice) :-

Latest update:- The apertures for the dice on the bare board were made so that you could use dice up to 20mm while allowing 16mm dice to be rotated in place if desired to line up sixes and the like during play. However, I found playing with 16mm dice meant the dice could sit off centre enough to irritate me (just me apparently, nobody else seemed that bothered by it). For anybody else like me that doesn't like the more sloppy fit of the 16mm dice, I have included a set of additional adapters to make it hold 16mm dice snugly in place without compromising any playability. The adapter set has the 18 parts required to then superglue to the board after printing. I was going to fully adapt the boards to have both 16 and 20mm versions but figured adapters were a better option as it allows for your own colours. The adapters fit all the boards here.
Previous update--- New board options added for both personal taste and to keep print times down for those who don't print fast.
I also added pictures of my printed set along with an extra image detailing the boards.
Two of the boards are for those who don't want or need a full enclosure and storage and just want a play area. They are simplified considerably. The trimmed down version is a similar size to the main cover variants but it has had all the bits removed that would allow it to form part of the enclosure. I also made it less tall (apart from the dice recesses) in order to save printing time. The 2 player standalone board will print in about half the time of the enclosure versions. The final board is an individual player board (so you will need to print two). They will obviously be the quickest prints of them all.
Previous update - -- Added multiple options for the top. Two different main enclosures along with 3 optional flat plate choices (it will need glue for attaching the plates). The plates add the game name to the top side of the enclosure . One plate is fairly plain with just the game name, the second is identical but has raised dice effects and the third has an additional skull.. because, well, I wanted to.
Box lids are marked as version 2 and 3, Version one was deleted due to it being a faulty stl upload so I ditched it to keep things up to date and avoid confusion.

KnuckleBones, or Knuckle Bones is a Dice game I only recently heard about. I figured it was worth doing a board for it as a test print for a new printer that's due any day now. So after a long break from printing anything and being rusty at the creation aspect, I sat down and created this from scratch. What started as a simple board expanded the more I got back into the swing of things.
This stl set is a board, but also a dice storage box and a simple training aid for teaching family members how to play it. The game is not difficult to learn, but it will still be a challenge with the retiree family members who often don't get things like this as quickly as others may do.
To that end the inside of one of the box lids has basic instructions to what is effectively a simple game. This was the lid printed and used for demo photos. In the mock up pictures the rules have an error, the final print and the stl here are corrected and error free. Although readable in good light it is less than stellar in a single print colour, a multi layer multi colour print would however make it perfect. Basically, what I am saying is, print a plain version, the rules version of the lid isn't worth the extended print time in a single colour.
The board itself has a few things that will also aid a new player. Because the scoring is a total of the 3 vertical lines, and with the need to remove dice when an opponent causes you to, I accentuated the play area with both vertical cutouts and ridges, along with 3 types of pattern that run the full length of the board. The pattern will obviously only be useful when there are not a lot of dice in play, but it should at least help newcomers early on in the game. The divider ridges and slots will always show regardless of dice in play.
I didn't design this as a portable carry box to throw in a bag. Its design was for being on a shelf with other games so it is a simple design where the the lid will complete the box and hold all seventeen (or 18 if you prefer) dice inside when you put it away.
It was originally designed for 16-20mm D6 dice. I deliberately made the board shallow and wide to make removing individual dice easy when required during play, along with sufficient space to rotate 16mm dice in place if you are the kind of person who likes their sixes lined up. I further added finger cutouts to the board to make dice removal even easier.
I aimed for a reasonable fit for the board and cover to store 16mm dice inside the 2 parts, with enough tolerance to allow for out of spec prints . The cover obviously also acts as a handy area to throw the dice, though if playing at home, a dice tower is often a better option.
If you print this, please consider sharing a comment or even better show a pic of what you printed. It's always good to know my stuff is getting used. It makes creating and sharing them worthwhile.
Board and lid footprints for printing are around 94mmx187mm.

Update- There are 2 different lids. Both with slightly different tolerances. I included a test piece that corresponds to the appropriate lid so you can check the lid will fit the board before committing to printing. This test piece was made to be a dual purpose thing rather than a waste and can be used as a spacer between the lid and base, so if printed in a different colour it will give the final print a different look.
