Описание

I recently purchased the Drill Press Sharpening System V2 kit from Taylor Tools, and realized I didn't have the time/materials to build the accompanying jig for chisel sharpening, so I modeled it up and printed it! Thanks to the Taytool team for providing such clear build instructions with their product.

I made some very slight alternations from the plan for printability, and attached both the model and project files for those that would like to alter it. In the future I may provide a 30 degree model as well to quickly sharpen a secondary bevel (or perhaps make them swappable?).

Printing Recommendations

I printed using a 0.6mm nozzle, with variable layer height (for speed/quality), no supports, and 3 perimeters. I used an adaptive cubic infill 15% which I don't really recommend since it pillowed a tiny bit, perhaps a gyroid with a bit more density would make it stronger and heavier.

Also…

- Make sure you get a good first layer with no warping (use a brim). If any warping happens, it will rock and not be square/flat while grinding. - I sanded the angle where the chisel sits to ensure it's flat. - The arbors/holes for storage are exact sizing, so I needed to file it down a bit. In the future I might add a little clearance there.
