NOTE: See the new modular version of this case at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7159499, which also supports an SSD and a variety of HATs.

This provides a Raspberry Pi case that supports BOTH Raspberry Pi 5 and Raspberry Pi 4B models. See https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6242465 for more details. There is also a variation of the case that works with a 3B (full size HDMI), and there is also a variation that will work only with a 5 (no audio hole). There are a variety of cover options that work with all.

NOTE: There is a V5T (i.e. thicker V5) version of this design that allows for thicker/stronger cases, where the thickness of the case can be varied from 2 to 5mm. This version uses a 2mm thickness, but see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7076174 if you want thicker cases. The STL files provided there have 3mm and 4mm thicknesses, but the OpenSCAD file allows for other thicknesses as well as customizing text labels on the case.

The V3 case makes the opening for the RPi5 power button slightly larger and adds an option for a 40mm fan cover, otherwise V2 mainly added options for snap on covers that do not require the use of screws.

The V4 OpenSCAD file adds more case options, where there is one STL file that will only work with an RPi5 (RaspberryPi5onlyV4.stl). There is still a case will support both the 4B and 5. Another option is provided for a case that works only with a RaspberryPi 3 (RaspberryPi3onlyV4.stl). All cover options will work on all of the case options.

This has been verified that these work with an actual RPi5. It also supports the use of the Pi 5 active cooler.

There are several cover options:

- Snap on cover with 30mm fan mounts - Snap on cover without fan mounts (Typically used when you are using an active cooler or no fan) - Screw on cover with 30mm fan mounts - Screw on cover without fan mounts - Screw and/or snap on cover with 30mm fan mounts (RaspberryPi5spfcoverV2.stl: this typically one serves all purposes) - Screw and/or snap on cover with 40mm fan mounts (RaspberryPi5V3spfcover40.stl: this one serves all purposes if you have a 40mm fan) - Screw and/or snap on cover without fan mounts

See https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6260580 for optional mounting brackets and feet for the bottom screws.

All of the V1 covers and mounting brackets can be used with the V2/V3/V4 cases. The only real benefit of using a cover without posts is slightly reduced printing time. The V3 just adds support for a 40mm fan option on the cover, and has a slightly larger opening for the RPi 5 power button.

The OpenSCAD file is also provided for your potential use, as this is intended to be an open design that can be used for many different Pi applications. I always found it a bit frustrating when I was using other cases that had issues and no way to correct without physically modifying the case with files, drills, etc... so this time I created my own design which I have already printed and deployed for all of my 3B, 4B and newer Pis. You might want to modify/personalize some of the text on the case and cover. You could also easily modify the design top allow use of M2.5 instead of M3 screws.

Note: Added three case options that allow for an additional 0.4mm around the card, as some have had difficulties with the case being too tight after printing. See the STL and OpenSCAD files that end with V5. These work with all of the existing cover options.
