Update: Asian hornet trap with legs for honey jar and raincap; Glue/screw Hornet traps to mount in box

Trap to capture the Asian hornet but not the other insects. Screws onto a normal honey jar, the feet tilt the jar a bit so the trap-it or bait wont run out, jar doesnt roll away and not too much rain enters the jar (though recommended to set under something of course). Opening is 8.5mm diameter.

Update: Added an optional raincap in case its sitting out in the open; now all rain will be kept out. Its a click-on, print without any supports.

Update2: Glue/screw version uploaded on request, work better thatn the jar version because air flows better through it and disperses the scent. Mount any way you want (glue/screw/ tape) in a 80mm hole in a box; in the middle of the box, put an attract jar with the mixture. Best to mount at least 2 in opposite direction to get decent air flowing through it. Dont wash the box, it will attract other hornets easier when the scent of caught hornets is still present. If possible, also moisten the outside of the cone once a day for even better results. --> works well, caught at least 50 with this setup last year...

Extra info: What to put in the jar? - Make a mixture of 1/3 white wine, 1/3 blonde beer and 1/3 sugar. --> yes, you can finish the wine and beer yourself afterwards - If you soak the mixture up in a cotton ball, other insects cant drown if they get into the jar and can climb out. - Try to moisture the cone once a day for better results

What to do if you catch one? - Check if its really an asian hornet... in case it is put a few hours in a freezer. --> after that a foot makes a determined finish :-)
