Coleman 425F stove generator replacement knob

This is a quick and dirty replacement knob for the old Coleman 425F white gas camp stove. It's the knob that controls the gas valve on the "generator", connected to the tank. The original is apparently more of a knob, and may actually serve the purpose of securing the tank in the case - and I might add a new model for a better version later, but this one will do for the pinch I'm in.

I had an attempt to match the splines up with the ones on the valve, but honestly I think that was probably mediocre at best. This really just press-fits on there using the screw that is originally on the generator, and the splines likely get created as the knob is pressed on - which might be even better than what I was attempting.

The model is oriented the way it should be printed. I used standard 15% infill, and PLA. I have tested it about 4 times, as I have a camping trip planned for the upcoming weekend, I'll probably print a spare in case the threads go out. That being said, it seems solid and tight.

To install, take the screw from the original knob (hopefully you have it, I don't know the dimensions on the screw), thread it all the way in through the top of the knob, then give it a few extra twists to make sure it's stripped and free. Then, thread the screw into the nut on the end of the generator, line up the knob to make sure it's horizontal and straight, and tighten the screw down BUT NOT TOO FAR. No need to crank it down in to oblivion :) Just tighten until it stops, and a tiny bit more.

Notes: 1. No idea how the PLA will handle getting white gas on it, so probably don't do that. 2. It's just PLA, and not splined very well, so be gentle when opening/closing the valve with the knob 3. Print an extra or two to keep with the stove, they're small :D
